Bang Bang's been stable in the iTunes top 40 thanks to some Capital airplay, just think what it'd do if it had Radio 1 support too, plus the all-important streaming playlisting. There's clearly some level of interest in the song but it's a no-hoper without more support sadly.

So much for "no label investment"... :arrr:

She is a priority artist for Atlantic.

Lmao, performing on TV but not getting radio impact & playlist support makes her a priority?

Labels can't dictate to radio stations & streaming services which songs to playlist.

Each and every single song on this EP deserves to be huge hit in its own right

It's a shame nothing from the EP has taken off, I guess her lockdown behaviour has hurt her image a lot plus her age in an industry which is ageist, especially towards women.

I hope she can have more success though.

sure but NMF has a 1-day effect and thats it, means zero in the big picture

the label should have sent some checks and have the song added to HH or TTH, thats how you become a hit

I don't think it's that black and white - do you believe Rita's team just couldn't be bothered to try and get her added to Hot Hits? The truth is, she's not been on HH as a lead artist since Let You Love Me, so she's been snubbed with Only Want You, How to Be Lonely and whichever they wanted to push out of Big and Bang Bang.

Sadly I think there's a number of factors at play here. Perhaps a smoother campaign could've helped cut through the negativity facing Rita right now, because Bang Bang had a good iTunes boost from the Dancing On Ice performance and held up quite well while Capital played it, but everything else felt completely messy and any hopes of turning her fortunes around were ruined by the lack of a clear release strategy and Hot Hits continuing to snub her.

I just listened to the acoustic version of Bang Bang for the first time and it was beautiful, very dreamy
