when 1989 was released, she argued that Spotify was ripping off artists and paying a misery

so she didn't put 1989 on Spotify and took off all her catalog

then in 2017 her catalog was added and unsurprisingly Spotify supported her like crazy during the Reputation/Lover eras

 

but since Folklore, their support seems to be gone

Cardigan had zero initial support (added as song #50 on HH) and same for Folklore,

which never get the crazy support most albums get, like for instance Ariana has had 3 songs on every imaginable playlist since day 1

True, and it's still a joke that Ariana STILL have 3 song in the top 20 on TTH months after the album release and Taylor never had more than 1 song... was the same with folklore.

 

I think it’s the more cynical explanation... Taylor owns her masters now so Republic have nothing to gain really by pushing her so hard. Somebody of her caliber really should be taking over Spotify for the week of an album release

They didn't actually, LWYMMD was blackballed from all playlists when she announced reputation would only be out physically and for download to start with. Lover had decent support but not as good as it could have been, folklore and evermore, well...

Yeah Taylor’s playlisting has always been pretty horrific on spotify for an artist of her status :(

 

Ofc the only time it was actually any good was during Me!ss first week (and possibly LWYMMD at first too)

^thats what I was talking about

 

Just checked and Look What You Made Me Do got insta-added as track #1 on Hot Hits, which was unprecedented at the time

and of course it was cos of some deal in exchange of having her catalog back. Thats crazy crazy support.

 

And with Me it was the same. Insta-added as track #1 to HH, and actually every possible existing playlist on Spotify.

So again crazy crazy support.

 

But then the support suddenly stopped. And she went from being insta-added as track 1 on HH

to Cardigan being added as track #50 on HH on release date and now the same with Willow.

They went from 100 to 0 in one album.
