I've already done a bit on this so I'll keep it relatively short but this track is a massive standout from Taylor, her and Bon Iver's voices fit together so well as so many male/female vocals do, this was way outside my Top 100 initially so I've bumped it up quite a bit as it deserves it. Aaand this marks the last Top 20 song in my chart so prepare to be thrust into obscurity from now on ;)

A collaboration absolutely no-one was expecting, German folk trio Milky Chance teamed up with American crooner Jack Johnson during lockdown to produce this little tune, giving both of them another EOY appearance after a few years missing. This isn't an instant smash but certainly racked up the weeks in my chart to deserve its place here.

Giving the a listen seeming that he has 3 #1s in your chart. I thought the song sounded pretty nice but I just didn't like his voice unfortunately.

Exile is nice but far from a favourite from the Folklore album.

Are there a few words missing from your first comment? :kink: I'll assume you mean the Cavetown song, yeah I get that his voice might not be to everyone's taste but glad you thought it sounded nice at least! I have to admit I've only heard the three cahrting songs from the folklore album - what were your favourites? Thanks Lewis!

We now reach the lowest #1 of the year, by quite a margin. Elderbrook has and will remain a favourite of mine, and this song is still veery refreshing to hear and I can see why I picked it as a #1. Unfortunately it didn't hang arond for too long, being #1 during my Lent challenge of listening to less music and being replaced by the song that was at #1 before it, and sadly the drop really needs a bit more to it. Elderbrook does still ahve another song to come though!

Gromee is one of the few European DJs from 2016-time who really has continued to make top-quality music up to the preset day, and this is no exception. Featuring heartthrob Jesper Jenset, this is some of the best dance music around at the moment, a real earwork that managed a nice long chart run despite Eurovision prematurely chucking it out of the Top 40.

One of the most surprising collaborations of the year came when dance duo Camelphat decided to use Foals frontman Yannis for their single Hypercolour. Unsurprisingly I loved it, Yannis' vocals really adding depth to the song and making it a real standout of theirs (and making sure Foals didn't go from an EOY #1 to having nothing in the chart the year after)

Now for a song I completely forgot about when compiling my EOY, and I actually had to listen to it again to remember what it sounded like. Lying To Myself entered my chart in late 2019 but reached it's peak in the January lull of this year. It's a fabulously funky indie-pop song with some bongos added in to keep it fresh, and I should probably take another look at who Leland Blue actually are

I was definitely late to the party on this one as it had been out for three months when I finally gave it a listen. I'm really glad I found this one and it deserves to be heard more!

Hi Pete!

Here are the songs that I like from your recent selection:

83. Camelphat, Yannis & Foals - Hypercolour

86. Milky Chance & Jack Johnson - Don't Let Me Down

87. Taylor Swift - Exile (feat. Bon Iver)

88. Sigma & Jack Savoretti - You & Me As One

89. Oh Wonder - Keep On Dancing

Great list so far!

Numb was one of your #1s I enjoyed the most so glad that's at least made the top 100 here.

big yay for Hypercolour making it, it's another great CamelPhat track, they've had a very good year.

Whoops yeah. I must have been half asleep when I written that

The other 2 charting songs were probably my favourites from folklore. 'betty' was my favourite of the album tracks.

A big thumbs up for Daði Freyr, Elderbrook and CamelPhat! Yannis was another unexpected collaborator for them, much like Jake Bugg, but it really worked once again *.* I loved quite a few Eurovision songs this year so it was a shame that they didn’t get the chance to compete 💔 ‘Think About Things’ actually charting for multiple weeks was a silver lining at least.

Already showed some love for ‘exile’ but why not once again! The Taylor and Bon Iver collab from ‘evermore’ didn’t quite hit those heights again for me although my favourite is ‘gold rush’ which has backing vocals from them!

Another long-running Top 20 hit now, Shallou managed a song in my EOY last year and matches the feat again this year with Official Top 31 smash Ashe. The highest entry from Irish worship band We Are Messengers, this is a brilliant upbeat song about how God is with us though all our struggles. Very unlucky to miss my Top 10 this year as it's a real cheery-uppy piece that is still sounding great now.

Time for some more Eurovision now! This was the to-be Russian entry this year, as always from Little Big it's absolutely bonkers and I love it. Another song which entered my chart in late 2019, this is one of two entries from Icelandic indie group Of Monster And Men, both of which were actually from 2019.
