Posted December 2, 200618 yr I always wanted to see Amy perform Even In Death, Hello, or Like You but respected that it was too personal for her to handle on stage. But then I came across this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=LiOaaIfCu_c It actually takes away from the song. It looks so stupid to rock out to that song and makes the whole theme sick... in a bad way. I had an arguement about "Like You" online when TOD was released with someone that claimed she was desperately trying to sound dark, without actually meaning what she says. Now that's completely stupid and untrue, but this performance DOES make it all look so cheap. Does anyone agree? The part she says "Moonlight on the soft brown earth, leads me to where you lay" (1:02-1:04) looks so disrespectful and makes the song seem lighter. I'm glad she doesn't perform "Hello" and "Like You" now.
December 2, 200618 yr I agree with you, but she's grown a lot since then.. and Like You is just FAR too lyrically blunt to ever sing that live I would have thought. Like you actually gave me shivers when I heard it for the first time.. it really suprised me how blunt the lyrics were.. I think the difference in Hello and Like You really shows the change since the last album. But yeah she's remained persistant with Hello.. never performed it. Edited December 2, 200618 yr by EvMark
December 2, 200618 yr Author I LOVE Like You's lyrics. "Even In Death" is kind of blunt as well... "Moonlight on the soft brown earth leads me to where you lay, they took you away from and now I'm taking you home... they don't hear you singing to me", that is really wrong to rock out to those lyrics and makes her look like SUCH a poser. I was really disappointed, but I don't know Amy so I have no idea if she's a poser or real when she says she longs "to lie cold in the ground"... Thank God she never performs it. The smiling/pointing to the ground when she sings "moonlight on the soft brown earth leads me to where you lay" just annoys me. I can totally see her performing Like You and pointing to the ground while singing "I'm coming for you" now. Edited December 2, 200618 yr by Filthy or Gorgeous
