The band will play Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Mexico between February and July. The lads have been working on songs for the next album and want to try them in small venues. The Brit band also plans to debut some of their new songs on a short tour of Latin American early in 2007. Coldplay will play Santiago, Chile on February 14-16; Buenos Aires, Argentina on February 20-22; Sao Paulo, Brazil from February 26-28 and Mexico City on March 3. On their Web site, the band says that they "are keen to play some intimate shows to try out their new songs," adding that "having received such a phenomenal response to their last Latin American trip in September 2003, they personally chose to return to the region." The venues are also smaller than those Coldplay visited during the Twisted Logic tour. Coldplay is expected to release their next album by the end of 2007. Earlier this week, frontman Chris Martin made a surprise appearance at a charity concert in London, performing four songs. He debuted a brand new tune entitled "Bucket For A Crown" and covered The Killers' "When You Were Young" and a pair of Bob Dylan songs.

They had two years between Parachuts and AROBTTH, and another three until X&Y. I reckon the new one will be in 2008, being another three years....
