I also had the same thought and then some.

 

I was like:

- 1st to go: Sophie EB - who once stopped VB for getting a #1

- 2nd out: Mel B - who in recent time has always looked the band member least close to VB

- Also Mel was given the boot after performing CGYOOMH, which was released the same week as NSAIG by VB

 

Is VB being a silent judge, or just be using her voodoo dolls? :P

I was going to start a new topic but then thought it can be merged with this one editing the title.

 

Mel B is putting on the mask again (this time she's Medusa) for The Masked Singer: Adivina quién canta (the Spanish version, now in its second season).

 

This is her first performance, Des'ree - You Gotta Be, and I'd say this is 100% Scary (annoyingly they still pre-record the vocals in some versions of the show and this sounds quite studio - not as bad as other performances though, like Menina/LaToya Jackson which had lines starting before the previous could even finish).

Got through, surprisingly she wasn't at risk. But I have to be honest in comparison I've only watched LaToya (who was unsurprisingly out first :rolleyes: and also a recycle from the US version. She 'sang' Lovefool by The Cardigans and Never Really Over by Katy Perry. Ambitious.)

I actually think I would have known that was Mel B before she even sang. Even those voice disguisers can't quite obscure Mel's very distinct accent and speech patterns. Plus, the Clue Package has video of Medusa's suitcase with animal print tops. I mean. C'mon.

 

I wish she wasn't doing such listless performances on these shows. She proved with the 2019 tour that she's just got as much fire as she ever did. Someone who has such fabulous stage presence really shouldn't just stand there singing a snoozer of a song. She continues her long-running trend of performing songs that are all wrong for her voice. The good news is the song's prerecorded, because I think it's too far out of her range to do it well live. If she'd just strut out and do a rock song, I'm sure she could slay it. But. Oh well.

 

By the way, two judges guessed Eva Longoria and Paris Hilton...the other two judges both guessed Geri. After the Geri guesses, they blasted Wannabe (so of course, it's Mel herself that we're hearing in that moment...)

It certainly sounds just like her... good for her that she is progressing further in this contest. I just wish she’d managed to stay longer in the UK version!

Bit of a boring song for such a fierce performer, but she did a great job. She brought some variety in her vocal delivery. I enjoyed it.
