To repeat what I said about Ben (a few weeks ago covering Joe Cocker's version of With A Little Help From My Friends): If this was a show hosted by Cat Deeley (Stars In Your Eyes), then that was brilliant. But this is X-Factor, therefore I expected something better and different than that. 5/10

My ratings tonight:

 

McDonald Brothers - c**p, awful, rubbish 1/10

Ray - He was OK, but still below par 3/10

Ben - Good, he deserves to be in the final 7/10

Leona - Without you = performance of the series. 10/10

Leona is in her "comfort zone" singing Mariah records, she has a very good vocal voice but she needs to prove herself outside of her Mariah comfort zone and with Lady Marmalade and Could It Be Magic she simply hasn't done that

However, knowing the (stupid) British public I expect Leona to go home tonight, with Ben just surviving.

I totally agree, that one of the two favourites will be going home tonight. I fully expect Kate to announce that the first two acts that are through to next week's Semi-Final to be McDonald Bros & Ray. :(

The final is on the 16th December. So it should only be two acts in the final.

 

Like another ITV Reality show this week, I fully expect the odds-on favourite (Leona) to get eliminated in 4th place (this week).

Or like every year on the X Factor, a woman of colour finishes in fourth leaving an all-male final 3....?

Ray was in Brookside so is already well known to teenage girls which gives him a head start, he has that happy smiley "cheeky chappy" "scallywag" face that makes grannies remind him of their grandchildren etc and has kinda boyband looks with his gelled hair

Ray performance was better then I expected. Ben so so. McDonald didn't watch. Leona was good, but the judged over rated her performance in my view. Also she stood bow legged in the second song which didn't look good.

Somewhat disappointing in general.

If it was purely a talent contest then Ben and Leona should be very clearly the finalists they are in a league of their own but sadly anyone with a phone and an IQ big enough to remember 10 or 11 numbers can vote so ultimately with their own agendas talent goes out of the window

-In any single live show from any season (I cant actually remember when I read this) but the 1st performer of the evening has never ever been the one to go home...
