Esteban Ocon became the first driver to complete a full race on one set of tyres since Mika Salo did it at Monaco in 1997.
And if you ignore the 2005 season. That was a pretty crazy rule looking back now but clearly it was brought in to stop the Ferrari-Bridgestone domination of the time.

If forgotten about that. When Michelin made tyres that were indestructible to the extent that a bad flat spot wouldn’t puncture the tyre and instead would shake the suspension to literal death

So many rule and format changes I completely missed or have since forgotten about from what I think of as the golden era (2004-2006)

So we already have our first casualty of the 2022 season with China being scrapped again, Imola confirmed now as the replacement. Love that it is becoming a regular again!

(Also was just added to the F1 2021 video game, brings back great memories of playing it in earlier editions)

-boring tilke shite in a country with no racing culture and a complete disrespect for basic morals, human decency, democracy and human rights

+Classic F1 track in a Country littered with racing culture and home to 2 teams including the legendary Ferrari with good standards of rights and human decency

Yeah that’s a swap I can get behind. Let’s make it permanent pls LibertyGlobal

Curious to see how the cars will handle the massive bumps we've seen already in MotoGP.

Apparently Sydney might try to steal the F1 Australian GP away from Melbourne with a new street circuit located on the city's waterfront. Melbourne's deal to host the race runs until 2025 so this change could still be a few years away, unless next year it's cancelled again in which case the contract might be broken.

I liked yesterday's race, very exciting and Verstappen deserved the win

lol at the crazy shenanigans between Alonso and Raikonnen :D

disappointed with Ferrari, they ruin Sanz's chances almost every other race with the sloppy wheel changes

Yes I'd say it was probably Max's most impressive performance of this season. Looks very good for him for the title now as that was probably the last track you would categorically have said was Mercedes-favouring. Of course anything can happen with incidents/retirements but on pure pace he's absolutely the favourite right now.

Agree with the above.

Whilst Red Bull were very lucky that the weather across the weekend turned what was expected to be a Merc walkover, into an even contest, they had the right strategy and Verstappen managed his tyres particularly well in the latter half of the race. Perez was also unlucky to finish so far behind but did well considering his condition and his faulty drinks tube.

The next two races are traditionally better suited to Red Bull and if we assume Max finishes 1st ahead of Lewis in 2nd both times, that gives him a commanding lead going to the Middle East and he could win by finishing 2nd in all three races there. Factor in that Lewis may still have some engine parts needing replacement (if Bottas is anything to go by) then it is definitely Max's advantage.

As has been implied above though, one DNF could swing this either way

Michael Andretti’s anticipated takeover of Sauber appears to be off – with money unsurprisingly cited as the reason.

In the last few weeks, talk of Andretti Autosport’s buyout of the team that currently races in Formula 1 as Alfa Romeo had gathered speed to the point where it had seemed inevitable.

There was even strong speculation that IndyCar racer Colton Herta would be crossing the Atlantic to line up as Valtteri Bottas’ team-mate next season.

What was this thing that happened with Martin Brundke during his gridwalk for the US Grand Prix and Megan Thee Stallion?

For 2022 it has already been clarified that the sprint races will not only be confirmed, but also doubled to six events (in the sights Spa, Suzuka and Austin)
Whilst I'm not all that fussed on the sprint races themselves, I DO prefer the weekend structure with having meaningful sessions on all 3 days. So I'm liking that.
