Sir Frank Williams, founder and former team principal of the Williams Racing Formula 1 team, has died aged 79.

He built the team named after him into one of the most successful in the sport.

During his time with Williams, the team won nine constructors' championships and seven drivers' titles, and dominated much of the 1980s and 1990s.

He and daughter Claire moved away from the sport in September 2020 after selling Williams to US investors.

A true legend of the sport, up there with Enzo Ferrari, Colin Chapman and Jack Brabham as the most important team owners in history
Been a while coming but still quite sad nonetheless. A titan of the Sport for sure, will go down in history as a Grade-A legend of F1

Just look at the stats:

Constructors Championships: 9 (1980, 1981, 1986, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997)

2nd in Constructors Championship: 6

3rd in Constructors Championship: 6

Driver Championships: 7 (1980, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997)

I feel that Williams could have won at least one title with BMW & Montoya in the early 00's, unfortunately it never materialised.

Yeah it is sad. Another F1 legend departs us, what he brought to the sport was incredible and the Williams name will be eternally synonymous with F1.
This Saudi track is insane. Thrilling viewing but seriously hoping there aren't any massive accidents during quali! The Leclerc crash yesterday was pretty intense.

It's very much like an Indycar street circuit but the biggest danger is going to be in Q1.

Potentially 20 cars on track and fast, blind corners is a recipe for disaster. The onus on the teams to keep drivers informed of fast cars behind them has never been more paramount

Well this is all very intriguing.

Max knew what he was doing again there on that restart, the corner wasn't even in doubt as Lewis had got fully ahead... Max just chose not to take the corner. If anything, yet again he pushed Lewis by forcing his way back on :/

George Russell's heavy braking was very concerning
There's going to be even more emotion involved on this second restart than the first, goodness only knows what will happen here
This has been one of the most bizarre races I've ever seen. I've never seen a race feel so out of control.

Terrible by the race officials. The track full of debris and Massi doing Jack shit

I can’t speak about the incidents in this race because I can’t be polite. Needing Ocon to hold on just one more lap and fight like a lion

Oh c**t off Botas you’ve been useless you’re entire f***ing Mercedes career and now you steal our podium. Prick.
That race was utter chaos! Max and Lewis are tied on points now going into the last race of the season. It's winner takes all next week!
