Bubba Wallace said becoming the first black driver in 58 years to win a race in Nascar's premier series brought "a lot of emotion".

Wallace took his first Nascar Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway on Monday, after rain cut the race short with the 27-year-old in the lead.

The last black driver to do so was Wendell Scott in 1963.

"I never think about those things," American Wallace said when asked about his achievement.

"But when you say it like that, it obviously brings a lot of emotion, a lot of joy to my family, fans, friends. It's pretty cool. Just proud to be a winner in the Cup Series."

If Marc performs like this more often, Fabio continues at this level, and Bagnaia keeps up the recent form of the last few races as seemingly the Ducati team leader now, we could be on for a thriller season next year in MotoGP.

It's hard not to see Turkington and Sutton as clearly a step above everyone else.

If Turkington can keep it in the top two, that's five years of being first or second.

Penultimate race of the season is about to start. I think this will be when we crown the BTCC champion.

Congrats to Fabio Quartararo who takes his maiden Moto GP title! Some drive that from 15th to 4th helped no doubt by both leading Ducati's binning it at the same corner!

Marquez slowly but surely getting back to full form too, tasty 2022 season in prospect right?

Jamie Chadwick has secured a second W Series championship with victory over fierce title rival Alice Powell in the season finale at Austin, Texas.

After putting one hand on the trophy by winning the penultimate race on Saturday, she followed up with a commanding win from pole position.

Chadwick continuously set fastest laps whilst Powell struggled from ninth on the grid, finishing sixth.

Chadwick, 23, won the series' first title in 2019.

Francesco Bagnaia and Joan Mir secured their 2nd and 3rd place respectively last weekend at Algarve.

Marc Marquez's season is over as he will miss Valencia GP this weekend. He is diagnosed with diplopia. He suffered from the same injury during his Moto2 season in 2011.

Valencia GP will also be Valentino Rossi's last race in MotoGP. Vale is aiming for another top 15 and hoping that he has a chance to say farewell to his fans in a good way.

Valentino at Valencia. It just had to be.

Real gutter about MM93, he's been through the ringer these past few years.

Francesco Bagnaia won the last MotoGP race in Valencia, followed by Jorge Martin (2nd) and Jack Miller (3rd). This also marked the first ever Ducati 1-2-3.

Valentino Rossi finished 10th. Such a good way to end his MotoGP career! #GrazieVale

Remy Gardner, son of the 1-time MotoGP World Champion Wayne Gardner, won the 2021 Moto2 World Championship. He will be racing with Tech3 KTM Factory MotoGP next year alongside his current teammate Raul Fernandez. Because of that, Danillo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona are both leaving MotoGP. Petrucci will be racing in Dakar Rally with KTM, while Lecuona will be racing in WSBK with HRC.

That was super amazing the send-off for Rossi yesterday. What an unbelievable career. I've only recently started getting into MotoGP as of last year but his name always transcended the sport and it's hard not to love the guy. A true legend retiring but it's in good hands with all the new talent on the grid.

Whenever an accident like this happens I can't help but be taken back to Riccardo Paletti's crash at Canada in '82. Thankfully the advances in safety mean this was far less deadly
