I like the Leona single a lot - two of my most-played songs this year made the B-side which is great.

 

She's trying to recreate the live versions which is why she seems to be shouting and overdoing it a bit. On the X Factor you have to keep reminding people you can sing or else you get voted off like Dionne did, no matter how good you are.

But she's a bit flat and a bit out on some notes. Considering a million people are going to own it, they could have done a second take on the B-sides.

'Summertime' is definitely a re-recording as the intonation is very different - and the lyrics are changed slightly (she misses odd words out of the live version - but remembers them on the b-side).

 

'Sorry' sounds a lot like the live version though so I'm not certain whether that's a re-recording. There are a few duff notes on the b-side which don't appear to be on the live version.

Listen to when she says 'sad, so sad' towards the end of 'Sorry'. She's flat on the second 'sad' both times.

 

'Summertime' is very well done.

(That's a stupid thing to say. Both are very well done and well-sung but 'Sorry' does have a few duff notes in. The judges always said she was 'flawless', which annoyed me, as many of her performances had odd notes and awkward bits. They were great in a million ways but they had flaws so they can't be 'flawless'. I shall buy all three of the judges a dictionary for their birthdays. And explain to Simon that 100% is the maximum.)

Oh last night was THE best clubbing night.

 

I walked into the first club and they were playing Always Be My Baby (which is always an ice breaker for me) so I was sitting down singing along in my head and stuff. Then every single club we went into there after played All I Want For Christmas Is You about 10 times each, it was HEAVEN. I was actually being quite respectable, but then had 1 shot too many and now my friend has a video of me screaming the words to AIWFCIY while another of my friends is in the background shaking her head. :(

 

They were also playing wrestling on the screens, now I ask you, how good can one night GET? :o
