January 9, 20214 yr Loved Elliott’s night time look and Symone’s boxer look - but I do not understand the decision to put Symone top 2 (she did win the lip sync though) Was a good episode to get to know the queens and I prefer when there is no early elimination
January 9, 20214 yr Author Very mixed bag that. Symone wasn't top 2 material imo, although obv she ate the lipsync. I got unpleasant vibes from a lot of the queens. Gottmik's surprise that the other queens would hear her verse seemed a bit unbelievable. The E1 twist seems completely unnecessary if you're going to then go on & do a S12-esque split premiere.
January 9, 20214 yr Symone is that star awwww I am so in love!!! Also Olivia Lux is giving me Miss Congeniality vibes!!! Such a sweetheart!!!
January 9, 20214 yr Olivia was an absolute dream. I LOVED her runway. Kandy Muse and LaLa Ri are reminding me of Silky and Ra'Jah. Not a fan.
January 9, 20214 yr Olivia  she was the best thing about that episode, such a sweetheart and did well in the lip-sync too! LaLa Ri surprised me with her looks - going from that hideous look in episode 1 to her looks this week was a definite improvement! Symone and Gottmik were both fantastic too! The others though, I'm not really here for. Kandy Muse... no x
January 9, 20214 yr Symone was my favourite this week, so delighted she won. The catwalk look was a WINNER. Olivia was also a joy to watch. Kandy and Tina are both annoying me though and the shows just seems to be getting more fake as season's go by. The 'drama' with Elliott getting back in, Gottmik's story, which is inspiring, but it just comes across as the producers wanting to say 'see, we do accept trans people in the show' with them focussing so much on it. And the constant promotion for the Werk the World tour as well..
January 9, 20214 yr Agreed on Kandy and Tina, both coming across unlikeable to me :( Tina idk what her deal is, at least with Kandy she came in and we knew she'd be a bitch. Tina is kind of trying to be this camp comedy queen but then also having such a snide side and being a bitch at any opportunity, it's not even shady and funny, just coming across as nasty for the sake of it. It could be production stirring up drama but meh, not a fan of either. I mean surely they knew there wasn't just going to be 6 of them in the competition! It's a shame because I really like Tina's drag but I find myself taking to her less and less. Kandy for me bottom line is just wayyyy too much talk and not enough walk, she's talking so much about how she can do "everything" and be "that bitch" but seems to think her loud personality means she doesn't have to SHOW that :') Olivia and Symone definitely stood out for me, Symone is just an absolute star and has E V E R Y T H I N G. Each runway look she served was I T, such a classic fashion eye but you always feel like you're seeing something new in a totally different way than you'd expect. I loved Elliott too, wasn't sure how much to expect but she really brought it and showed she absolutely deserves to be there. I think she was second behind Olivia for me in the performance, although overall Symone was the star of the week, especially after the lipsync! Olivia is just so so lovely though, and you can tell it's really genuine, not just for the sake of the camera and being a fan fave. That personality goes a long way but she has the looks and talent to back it up so I'm super excited to see her.
January 9, 20214 yr This episode was very confusing too? Like surely the queens didn't think that they were actually gonna eliminate all the losing queen's ep 1?? so why were they all shocked when Eliott came in. Also, where did this spy thing come from?? Ru is known to bring back queens into the competition like it's not to be a spy lmao. Seemed like we missed something as was quite a weird read that didn't make sense. As for the Kandy/Elliott beef okay yes was what Eliott said a little pointed, yes. However, I think Elliott made a valid point look at. Vanjie, Dahlia, and Kahanna. It just didn't feel right having all of them come for her and then the moment she says a little something (yet a truthful thing) back and then they are like omg did she just come for you!!!. I do like Kandy tho and I hope she does calm down a little. Same with Tina. As for the song the pacing felt off? Like some did a rap and some did singing and not all were on the right pace or rhythm. I'm A Bitch stands great still. I do like all the queens for different reasons. However, I feel I got to know who Tina and Kandy are more than who Eliott was tho which is a shame because I feel like Eliott defo has something in them. One to watch maybe idk. Best runway look (inc mini challenge) for each queen: Eliott With 2 T's: Night Time Look Gottmik: Lame Runaway Kandy Muse - Lame Runway Lala Ri - Night Time Look Olivia Lux - Hmm Loved all 3 but I had to say the Night-Time Look omg. Symone - Day Time Look Tina Burner - Lame Runway
January 9, 20214 yr Yeah my one complaint about this season so far is that all the twists/drama are so tiring - we've been down this road before and there's no way they'd have assumed only six of them would be competing lmao? It's making it all seem a little fake. Hopefully it's back to business as usual after the next episode when this whole charade is finished.
January 9, 20214 yr Author Confusing is the word. Like the editing was really heavy handed and the queens' reactions - especially for seasoned queens - were not believable.
January 9, 20214 yr I enjoyed this episode! It was good to get back to a normal episode format that we've seen before. Olivia Lux is really quite a talent for only a year and a half in drag, she is naturally beautiful and has a face many wish for, but she's also so nice and charming too. Really think she's gonna be one to watch as I reckon RuPaul will really like her too. She has a Valentina-esque 'effortlessness' to drag which I hope the other girls don't get mad about. Symone was a star and definitely my top pick for the win this week! Lip sync, verse, looks were all top class and she's a charming personality! I thought Tina and Elliott did really well in their verses too, kinda low-key living for Elliott stirring shit knowing she was the outcast but might as well go for it anyway! Didn't really like either of these queens looks though. Tina's concepts are there but her face/hair regularly is letting her down for me? Elliott feels very Las Vegas and she's just putting on costumes rather than thinking what her brand is and what suits her. I thought Kandy Muse was the weakest out of this bunch surprisingly, just not quite as polished as the others despite the right attitude towards it. Also was it just me or did she sound out of breath in her 'pre-recorded' verse?! I feel like she might have a Heidi N Closet style run. LaLaRi stepped up her looks game and had a good verse as well, loved her lame look! She is coming across quite shy and meek so I think she might struggle in some of the more 'character' based challenges coming up at this rate and maybe a bit of a filler queen unfortunately? Gottmik is a star as well and just feels like a step above most the others in looks, although Olivia and Symone run her close. All three were faultless for me and she's got such a futuristic forward thinking style as well, so excited for her. and if we're doing this... fave look: Elliott With 2 T's: Lame Runway Gottmik: Lame Runaway Kandy Muse - Daytime Look Lala Ri - Lame Runway Olivia Lux - Night-Time Look Symone - Lame Runway Tina Burner - Night-Time Look
January 9, 20214 yr Yeah Symone did an absolute slam dunk this week as we knew she would. I don't think she did a single thing wrong the whole episode? An utter SUPERSTAR from the word go and is going to be such a joy to watch throughout. Nothing better than a drag queen who puts you in very capable hands! Love Olivia to DEATH as well but I knew I would. I gravitate towards lovely lovely people and she is so nice inside and out, plus her looks were so surprising and sassy! I think she has the potential to get to the final tbh if she wanted to get there... I also loved her lipsync - she's very new to drag and you can tell she's not quite worked that department out yet so it has such a goofy slightly amateur charm which is so endearing! Gotta shout out to Gottmik (what a DOLL ) and my girl LaLaRi who I thought both had a v decent episode  The latter I know will not be for everyone but I LOVE that sort of southern black drag, and her personality is FAB. Her faces throughout the rehearsals were incredible to watch! And her gold lamé look with that warm gold and chocolatey makeup was eeeeeverything. Kandy I think lost me on nearly all fronts - she's a good TV personality but as for the drag aspect, I don't think she did anything to write home about. That daytime look - it did not fit the brief at ALL and idk what she was thinking?? Tina had the potential to have a really good episode too but that performance, performing to the other girls and not a BIT of it to the judges or the camera? It put me right off! I think her personality is absolutely stinking LOL. There's a sense of entitlement and snottiness which I'm just not for. I absolutely agree with Patrick re: Elliott - she looks like she's wearing someone else's costumes - not that she looks BAD (far from it!) but I don't know her personal style because she's done so much already. I just like my queens to have a stronger sense of identity, even if they do flirt into many different things.
January 9, 20214 yr I really enjoyed the epsiode! My favourites were Olivia & Symone. I didn't think the group number was that good though? It just seemed a bit flat. I don't like Kandy at all. Gotmik's runway look was amazing - I hope she goes far just so we can see what amazing runways she has to offer. Lala Ri was a pleasant surprise this episode - her runways were a lot better compared to last week's enterance look and she did well in the performance. Elliot with 2 Ts did well, I really liked her night time look. Tina was ok. Going into the competition I thought I was going to really like her as I do like campy queens, but her personality is just rather sour. I can't warm to her at all.
January 9, 20214 yr That's definitely true with Elliot, initially I thought it could be quite refreshing in a way to have kind of an "outfit" each time like that of her entrance look instead of say a gown or something else typical of queens today, but then she's come in and done about 8 different styles already  Of course she couldn't do that every time but I agree that you haven't been able to see her style or get a sense of who she is because she's put her fingers in so many pies. There's a difference between the outfits looking good (which they have done) and appreciating her sense of style, with Symone for example each thing she's worn has shown versatility, but it's all been very her. I wonder if that might be Elliott's downfall, I can see the judges reading her for not getting a sense of who she is as the weeks go on. You can tell she's got the drive and oomph there, the passion to do well, but she needs to channel it in a more focused way when it comes to looks. Tina is definitely pretty snotty, to me she's kind of what I thought Tamisha would be! She comes across as one of those older established queens who is just in their little bubble of what drag should be, I think that's also why she's not that keen on Elliott, she's not really in that box that Tina has created. I think when you're such a name at home, it's easy for a queen to get a bit too big for their boots, but you're in a new bubble with so many talented queens of so many types, you can't expect what's top in one bubble or situation to fly in another necessarily. I do think the number as a whole was weaker than they have been too! When you look at You Don't Know Me with Jaida and Jan's verses for example, and Gigi/Widow on I'm That Bitch, there wasn't really a big memorable moment, but they all did fairly well instead so I suppose that's good too.
January 10, 20214 yr The funniest thing about the episode was Tina saying that Kandy is there to stir up drama for no reason yet shading every single queen at any given opportunity behind the scenes. Snake vibes. It was also funny to see them being so smug about their one lip sync wins afterwards realizing that more than half of the cast was in fact NOT eliminated based on one single lip sync 5 minutes into the show. I mean come on are you really that stupid?! Being a lip sync assassin doesn’t even mean you’ll definitely go all the way. Olivia and Symone are coming across so well, they are both staying 100 ft away from any drama and that’s going to work in their favour if they continue doing that. Let Kandy and Tina handle that (horribly). Speaking of Kandy, she was so shook when Elliott made that comment but SHE WAS RIGHT. It’s not like this was a coming-for moment, just a valid observation. Gottmik: omg no one knows I’m trans Everyone else: erm you have 300k followers on ig we know and we don’t care babez, just learn your f***ing routine :’) But I would guess this was needed to introduce Gottmik to the general audience.
