2 weeks ago Ed Sheeran scored his fourth number 1 in 2021 with "Overpass Graffiti". Now Little Mix repeat this achievement - "No" becomes their fourth chart-topper this year after "Sweet Melody", "Kiss My" (with Anne-Marie) and "Love Sweet Love".

What about last week's number 1? "I Wish" by Joel Corry and Mabel has disappeared completely from the Top 20!

"Easy On Me" by Adele returns to number 1 for a second week there. Since MTV Europe's European chart changed the way it's being made in February this year, only 2 other songs have spent more than one week at the top - "Kiss Me More" by Doja Cat and SZA and "My Universe" by Coldplay and BTS.

Just like last week, the previous edition's number 1 has disappeared completely from the Top 20 (this time it was "No" by Little Mix)!

Taylor Swift appears at number 3 - strangely, not with "All Too Well" but with "Red".

It's also notable that MTV Europe didn't play the official video of "Mama Tetema" by Maluma and Rayvanny (currently at number 20) but a live performance.

Last week "Red" by Taylor Swift strangely appeared at number 3. Now it's gone from the Top 20 and has been replaced (logically) by "All Too Well", which occupies the number 2 position.

"Easy On Me" by Adele becomes the first song to spend 3 weeks at number 1 since MTV Europe's European chart changed the way it's being made in February this year. Just before that, "Afterglow" by Ed Sheeran spent a total of 4 weeks at the top.

MTV Europe has changed its schedule. Now the "Euro Top Chart" is broadcast from 8:30 to 10:00 CET on Friday and from 6:00 to 7:30 CET on Sunday. It seems like they don't broadcast the chart on Saturday anymore.

MTV Europe didn't play the official video of "Woman" by Doja Cat (currently at number 13) but some lyric video.

And the strange situation around Taylor Swift continues. Two weeks ago "Red" appeared at number 3. Last week it disappeared from the Top 20 while "All Too Well" appeared at number 2. This week "All Too Well" has disappeared from the Top 20 while "I Bet You Think About Me" appears at number 12!...

There have been a couple of instances when artists have scored FOUR number ones in a calendar year in MTV Europe's European chart. Gwen Stefani did it in 2005 - "What You Waiting For?", "Rich Girl" (with Eve), "Hollaback Girl" and "Cool"; while the achievement of Little Mix is actually from this very year - "Sweet Melody", "Kiss My" (with Anne-Marie), "Love Sweet Love" and "No".

However, now Ed Sheeran makes history as he becomes the first artist to score FIVE number ones in a calendar year!!!!! Here they are: "Afterglow", "Bad Habits", "Shivers", "Overpass Graffiti" and, this week, "Merry Christmas".

As for Elton John, it's his second chart-topper in 2021 after another duet - "Cold Heart" with Dua Lipa.
