'Hotter Than Hell' really shouldn't be in the top 10, aside from that it's solid!

I can't really see past anything other than 'Physical' romping to victory, which I would be completely OK with.

10. Break My Heart (8.91)

Kicking off our top 10 is worldwide-smash, Break My Heart- an instant fave upon the first time I heard the leak of it but it definitely didn’t have the punch that Physical and DSN had- it was however a great follow-up from these 2 carrying on with the disco sound whilst also having a very Charlie Puth-esque chorus. One of, if not my absolute favourite videos from her- it really creates such a fun world for the song to live in and the outfits and set pieces are stunning and is a visual that definitely has a lot of replay value as you notice new details each time round. The song went on to score a top 10 peak in the UK and got to number 13 in the US but did score Official Gay Anthem-status as it was used in a Drag Race lip-sync just a few weeks ago. One of the songs I for sure am the most excited to hear in a club and see her perform when we finally are able to see it!

9. Hotter than Hell (8.91) MORE 10S

Very happy to see this place so highly- the song that truly got me on board the Dua train after not clicking with any of her singles before it was her low husky voice on the verses of this tropical number that got me hooked and I’m glad to see it get recognition because I feel it often gets swept a bit under the rug. She looks stunning in the video and Hotter Than Hell really set her off on a path to stardom becoming a cute top 15 hit (although was definitely bigger than it’s peak suggests). While I can’t imagine her going back to this sound anytime soon, it’s one that suits her voice incredibly and probably, along with Room for 2, the song that best shows off her low range.

Hallucinate and Hotter Than Hell would have been better fit in Top 20 tbh!!!

8. Love Again (8.95)

The highest ranking single leaves us in an extremely impressive 8th place now with Love Again. This song was an instant favourite for me upon my first listen of the album immediately giving me Sorry by Madonna influences which is one of, if not my favourite song by Madge! The sample works so great and the song shows off her lower range again whilst including some brilliant powerful moments towards the end of the song before being closed by the beautiful strings that return after the extended intro. The episode she filmed for Netflix about the creation of this song really made me appreciate it even more and I love the idea of it going down as a true underrated gem in her back catalogue as at this point I think it’s fairly unlikely it will become a single unfortunately.

I can't believe, I can't believe

I finally found someone

I'll sink my teeth in disbelief

'Cause you're the one that I want

I can't believe, I can't believe

I'm not afraid anymore

Goddamn, you got me in love again

This is great. I still hope it will be pushed as a single though.

7. Electricity (with Silk City) (9.29)

A big increase in averages as we move onto 7th place with the song Dua cites as helping her create the Future Nostalgia-era, Electricity. This is just such a classic slice of dance-pop and is an undeniable stormer. The piano over the bass are sublime and the drops are epic as well as her vocals that could not be more suited than to a song like this- I am DYING for Dua to team up with Diplo and Mark again because I need a part 2. This video was the most confident she’d ever appeared upon release as well and seemed like such a turning point for her in terms of dancing and just coming across a star on camera. Glad this went on to become a hit for them and remains a favourite to her fans.

6. New Rules (9.37)

Missing out a spot in that top 5 is UK number one smash hit, New Rules. The song set us off on Dua’s road to global super-stardom, no doubt helped by that iconic video- the simplicity yet amazing costuming, set design and storytelling were a hit globally as the song became Dua’s very first top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 too. The song was the one all fans immediately knew had to be a single upon the albums release and I think most of us were baffled how it hadn’t been released already, particularly over Lost in Your Light- but it all worked out pretty well in the end didn’t it! The previously mentioned storytelling in the song is definitely the highlight of the song and I cannot wait to see this performed live again!

Any guesses on the order our top 5 will come in?

Would like some more comments not to beg haha but not getting much reaction is sad :(

Top 5 are as follows-

Don't Start Now

Physical

Hallucinate

Levitating

One Kiss (with Calvin Harris)

That is a beautiful top 5!

My predicted order:

5. One Kiss (with Calvin Harris)

4. Hallucinate

3. Levitating

2. Don't Start Now

1. Physical

Edited by ...ready for it

I'm aware that this is a minority opinion, but I'm glad that "New Rules" missed the Top 5. I prefer all the remaining songs, even "Electricity", over it. Either way, I think all the remaining Future Nostalgia songs are a lock in the Top 4 and "Physical" is going to win this.

Electricity is quite a bit tok high for me

I also prefer all the songs in the top 5 over New Rules, rooting for any of the FN songs to win

5. One Kiss (with Calvin Harris) (9.41)

The last remaining non-Future Nostalgia single leaves us in a very impressive fifth place with Calvin Harris-team-up One Kiss. The song could not have had more success becoming the biggest song of the year in the UK and racking up eight consecutive weeks at the top spot. The song was a new sound for Dua but the production suited her voice perfectly and helped her become a global meme in the way of her iconic dancing video- at least this song definitely helped her work on her stage presence for future performances. The song is her biggest selling in the UK- although not too far ahead of New Rules- and will for sure go down as one of her signatures.

So our top 4 is exclusively singles from the Future Nostalgia era- which one will drop next?

A really solid top 5  A Don't Start Now and Physical top 2 would be ideal! Everything left is a 10/10 though!
