Posted April 5, 200619 yr Old Depeche Mode albums on extended cd/dvd issues? are they worth buying or will they be just a bit too far removed from the rockier stuff and a bit too 80s? and if you have already got them? will you buy them again?
April 5, 200619 yr Well, "Violator" and "Black Celebration" are definitely worth having if you dont already do so, classic albums both. The further back you go, the more definably "80s" they are obviously, but even stuff like "Music for the Masses" and "Some Great Reward" are worth your time as well; avoid the first couple of albums though, a bit too cheesy...... The disappointing thing about these re-releases though is the fact that they've not seen fit to put the videos onto them. Seems a bit odd to me to not do that....
April 5, 200619 yr Author think it might be because they have got a videos compilation that was re-released a couple of years ago. maybe mute think its all done with that?

It was a couple of years ago though.... If each album had the videos on that were particular to the single releases from that album, to me, that would've made sense....
April 5, 200619 yr Music for the Masses, Black Celebration and Violator are amazing albums... and surprisingly, the earlier albums, A Broken Frame, Construction Time Again, Some Great Reward and Speak and Spell probably sound more relevant and up-to-date than the later ones now, what with the resurgence in the popularity of plinky-plonky electro. The first 3 I mentioned, though - brilliant albums. Don't forget to vote in this week's cover design, too, everyone.... this week it's for Depeche Mode and Embrace.... http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2355 Edited April 5, 200619 yr by russt68
