Posted December 4, 200618 yr Virgin Net Music news Sophie has good Feeling on new LP Sophie Ellis-Bextor is set to launch her pop comeback next year - with a bit of help from her rocker husband. Ellis-Bextor enjoyed chart success with her 2001 debut album 'Read My Lips' and her 2003 follow-up 'Shoot From The Hip' before taking a break from showbiz to have a baby. But the 'Take Me Home' singer is set to return early next year and her husband, Richard Jones from The Feeling, revealed he and his bandmates have written tracks for her new LP. The bass player insists fans will be impressed by the record, which is called 'Trip The Light Fantastic', and claims you can hear the influence of The Feeling singer Dan Gillespie on some of the songs. "It was good fun, we're like a big family really," he told MTV. "If you listen to the tracks in a song-writing sense then you'll be able to hear our influence and the way that Dan has worked with it. But stylistically the tracks are nothing like us at all. "It's disco-pop but in a modern context - what Sophie does best. It's brilliant, definitely her best album to date." 'Trip The Light Fantastic' will be released next April and will be preceded by new single 'Catch You' in February. Are any of you fans of Sophie's previous material?

December 4, 200618 yr This is an album I have been looking for for a LONG time. :cheer: Sophie is one of my favourite artists, I heard 'Catch You' as vocalled by someone else and I can promise you that you are in for a slice of true pop perfection. I can't wait for this album, the second single is also slated to be 'Me And My Imagination'.

December 4, 200618 yr Her last album wasn't great and it didnt do very well. However, I'm looking forward to this and have a feeling it could do well if it gets the right promotion as there is a gap in the pop market record now.

Looks like these dates are more concrete than ever though, so I can relax at last. :lol: Shame we won't get the album until single #2, but at least 'Catch You' will wet my appetite and build excitement.
December 7, 200618 yr I love Sophie got her first albums so really looking forward to this one. The Feeling aren't too bad but I wouldn't want her to sound too much like them.
