A relatively easy one to start off with, what with the clue basically giving the answer and the songs being one of the more loved songs from recent years on Buzzjack. There were in fact a whole range of answers which could have been given for this one, including Beyoncé’s ‘Love On Top’ and ‘First Love’ by The Maccabees. Only one non-pointer here, I assume just one of those moments Mack?

Oh dear. One of my more ‘lateral thinking’ questions now, I was actually quite surprised at this only getting one correct answer given how well-guessed the other two questions of this sort were. The clue, if you haven’t worked it out already, takes the form of ‘Wasted’ = ‘Was Ted’, as e was before and is no longer. Evidently if you didn’t know who the person in the picture was it was difficult but there were a few guesses which sort-of got the ilk of Father Ted no longer being there and thus received some compensation points.

Ha would never have thought of that but knew there must be something specific about Father Ted!

 

And glad to see I wasn't alone with Now You're Gone haha!

I thought mine was a great answer ('one Ted, dead or alive'), ah well :lol:

Next up is another which ended up with a surprisingly low guess count. Quite a few people got the significance of either the ‘this’ or the fact that there was always a space between ‘this’ and ‘u’ but only three people managed to merge them together into the classic by MC Hammer. I started off being very harsh on this question for no apparent reason so I’ve quickly added in a point or so for anyone who got the ‘this’ link at least.

Bugger! I should have got that one, I kept thinking of ‘noted’ instead

Ah so annoying now I know the answer. Knew what the link was but couldn't think of a song that matched!

Hadn't picked up on the 'u' but I went for that because "all" was the only word to show "this" any love! :D

The outer artists in the larger writing were British and the inner ones in the smaller writing were American. Hence I thought it was an American sandwich. :lol:

Onto a more guessable answer now! ‘Boy’ and ‘Girl’ inside Alabama – a place in America – provides us with ‘Kids in America’, a song which is equally a classic and annoying at the same time. A few people went very much with ‘say what you see’ with Sweet Home Alabama, plus a guess for a song I’ve never heard of from Riser!

 

And glad to see I wasn't alone with Now You're Gone haha!

Four family members, three from big cities and one from a small town = Smalltown Boy! For the record I’ve never been to Kildwick, it was purely a random town I found in Wikipedia’s list of civil parishes, but it sounded fun enough. Dandy* feels so close to getting it right but goes for the wrong side of the picture, whilst a few family-related guesses pick up small points.

Just catching up with this. Glad to see I'm doing OK, though I was so sure about 'Daddy's Gone'! Glad to see I wasn't the only one who went down that path either! Maybe I didn't do as well as I thought in this after all :lol:

 

'Kids In America' took me longer than it should have, I just kept thinking Alabama and 'Sweet Home Alabama' before the answer clicked!

 

For 'Smalltown Boy' I originally had 'North Country Boy' before working out the correct answer.
