The album is awesome, so bad that it flopped! This was a top 5 CD. :(

I realise this sounds a bit nasty and I reckon I'm gonna get jumped on, but I'm sorta glad that this has stiffed... Simply because they thought that the whole world was somehow waiting for them to return that the world of Pop Music was waiting with baited breath just for them, it really was quite arrogant of them... The over-exposure as well and the hype was frankly getting on my t*ts as well... Endless appearances on chat shows, they even made it onto bloody NEWS PROGRAMMES for fukk sake, like somehow their 'comeback' was some bloody important world event or summat... PUH-LEEEEEZZE!!! The overall impression given was that we were all just somehow expected to like their new material....

I really cant stand that sort of complacent arrogance, and I guess the public at large felt the same way...

I don't remember them saying they expected everyone to be waiting? It's natural, an old successful band decides to return it WILL get media coverage, even bloody East 17 did. I don't think it's necessarily their fault, they just wanted to release music again...

Didn't exactly work well for East 17 either though did it...? No, All Saints didn't in so many words say that they were 'what the world was waiting for', it's just the overall impression that I got.. And I really dont think that professional newscasters should really be getting roped into the promotion of some pop group no matter who they are. Chat shows are one thing....

6 years is a long time to be away, what I suspect happened was most of their core audience and fanbase from all those years ago had moved on since.

Very true... Six years absence doesn't really hurt a Metal/Alternative (bands like NIN and Tool routinely have long album gestation periods and albums are usually very eagerly awaited..) band much because fans of these sorts of bands tend to be more loyal than the more fickle Pop fans...

But that argument kinda fails to take into account Take That, over a DECADE's absence, and they seem to be doing considerably better than All Saints....

they were everywhere, they did so much promotion for the 1st single, what more could they do? i don't understand why are they taking so long to follow up they should release the 2nd single in early january, the album may be hard to resurrect after waiting too long, the pressue is on them from the record company if the single doesn't get top10 or boost album sales then they will definately be dropped
