Lil Nas is such a STAR and I really like what I've heard from the album so far. I think he comes alive on stage and in his music videos, so fingers crossed we get to see a lot of this album brought to life.

 

These are a bit of overreactions I think - it's good and he's a pioneer in bringing the gay sexuality into rap mainstream, but 5 stars???

Yeah i think the 5 star reviews are odd because whilst the album is good. Its not 5 star good.

 

For those asking about Elton on ‘One Of Me’. There is literally a piano playing throughout the whole song lol

I’ve had a quick listen and it sounds pretty good to me. Everything seemed reasonably catchy and there’s definite vibes of Andre 3000 about some of the styles
Omg y’all even an official review is just one person’s opinion. No need to take their 5-star review this seriously. I’m sure there are so many other people who are this edgy in finding him overrated. (Like NME for example)

Loving this album! My highlights from the new tracks are That's What I Want (possibly my favourite on the entire album... :wub:), Lost in the Citadel and Am I Dreaming <3

It's a really solid album I think. I've only loved MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) from him before now so I was very impressed by how much I enjoyed the album. THATS WHAT I WANT sounds huge to me as well!

i believe the physicals are being saved for the deluxe?

 

A strange move by his label but perhaps there's a delay in distribution. Or perhaps their unsure how the album is going to perform? Or the fact it's common to release a deluxe soon after the original nowadays (which f***s my Last.FM up no end)

tbh never heard of any album where they saved the physicals for the deluxe or a re-release

I'm enjoying the album! A satisfying mix of bangers and gripping vulnerable moments. I like that the rock influences from his last EP have carried over in places too. I think the single choices have been spot on, all so addictive, then 'TALES OF DOMINICA' would be my favourite album track. Gutted there's no physicals yet as the cover is so striking, hopefully soon!

 

Didn't think I'd ever be sitting here watching a 'LIL NAS X GIVES BIRTH' video but there we go. The marketing has been a wild ride *.*

Genuinely feel blessed to be living in this time. Lil Nas is breaking boundaries for a queer artist and I'm here for it - and loving how so many of the public are too.
So are we all just ignoring the fact that he has no musical ability whatsoever lol
