Posted December 5, 200618 yr ESC Today: Some sites already confirmed that the United Kingdom will be back as well in [Junior Eurovision] 2007. However, this is premature. There are still some obstacles to overcome before ITV are able to rejoin the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Firstly, there is a problem of timing. It would seem almost certain that the broadcaster would not air the show directly against X-Factor, it's most commercially successful show of the year, which is scheduled for next year's fall. This seems to be the real reason for withdrawing from the contest this year. A possible return of the United Kingdom would mean moving Junior Eurovision Song Contest to either before the start of October or after Christmas. However, the 2007 event will take place on the 8th of December! ITV does have a new chairman, with Michael Grade, from the entertainment side of the company replacing the former chairman from the finance side, and there is certainly an increased chance of the United Kingdom returning, but no official announcement is likely before the turn of the year.
December 5, 200618 yr Author Other rumours on this btw: France coming back next year. Lithuania entering next year. Bosnia-Herzegovina entering next year. Croatia not entering next year, as they didn't show the JESC on a terrestrial channel, which I find odd as the UK always had it on ITV2. Malta not entering next year after bad results.
