April 6, 20232 yr I'm refraining from listening but why she released half of the album last Friday? makes zero sense to me and why is saying it's her less personal album ever as a way to sell it, also makes no sense to me Definitely #1 in albums, basically nothing else is out, even with 10K she could do it
April 6, 20232 yr Her saying it's her least personal has actually gained her a lot of good press and publicity for the album than anything else has this era. The guardian have lapped this album up because of it!
April 6, 20232 yr Saying it's her "least personal album" is one quote in an interview she did, it's obviously been taken as the headline and people are running with it. The full quote: "In the best possible way, this album wasn’t taken from personal experiences, and it was such a relief and really refreshing to not be sitting in the studio going through all the things that happened to me and affected me. Because I feel things very deeply. I always have. It’s the least personal album, but I think it’s the best album because I got to just explore other things about myself. I just really, really enjoy writing, really enjoy being a singer." I find it quite refreshing that she's not pedalling the "most personal album" stuff that most artists do, and there's another article praising Ellie for "making pop escapist again" (read it here). It's working from a publicity point of view too because I've seen the quote all over my feed, from just news outlets reporting on it to memes mimicking the famous Fake Showbiz News tweets about Ellie that always go viral. It's probably better publicity than what she'd get if she'd made out it was more personal than it actually is!
April 6, 20232 yr I love it from Ellie! Fun pop with nothing else to it can be so refreshing :). Excited to hear the full album Edited April 6, 20232 yr by GraceAJX
April 6, 20232 yr Actually maybe it won't make much of a different cos when i think tortured singer songwriter I never think Ellie Goulding. For me it's a kinda strange way to promote the album but at least it isn't fake or tying to be what's not not
April 6, 20232 yr She's put another 1000 up for personal signing if anyone is interested, 200 left https://www.banquetrecords.com/ellie-gouldi...%5D/EG4814622PS
April 6, 20232 yr The title track is simply divine. It's my favourite from all the tracks that have been released so far. xeDmPR9z4o4
April 6, 20232 yr So pleased with the music and response/success this era - never thought Ellie would trouble the #1 spot again and the fact she could achieve the double next week is incredible.
April 6, 20232 yr Predictions on opening week.. I think 20k maybe 15k Brightest Blue debuted with 14,820 copies, so I expect the same, more or less.
April 6, 20232 yr I think somewhere between 10-15k. Have a feeling she will be a bit of a smaller Miley type success with the big single but album not selling as huge off the back of it. Fingers crossed for her she does the #1.
April 6, 20232 yr Ellie is currently trending on Twitter for a video showing her discography and the fake news tweets. She's getting so much promo at the right time! Queeeen

April 6, 20232 yr Just some but a lot of tweets similar across the board this evening @1643982703807832065 @1643962539640848387 @1643995381569576962 @1644004295426076674 This one also being snared a lot @1644064826946211851 Edited April 6, 20232 yr by Rough_edges
April 6, 20232 yr @1643982703807832065 Looking at this video, it's easy to see how she fell off after 2015. Also quite frustrating how she basically squandered that success she'd built up. Trying so desperately hard to be American after the wobble of the Delirium era really was such a misguided move.
