Welcome to my topic about Anastacia and her AMAZING albums she has produced, kicking of with my favorite album of all time, the self titled Anastacia album!

The basics...

In 2003, Anastacia found out that she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. After the sucess of being awarded the fastest selling singer in europe Anastacia thought everything would crash and burn. So far, Anastacia had already sold more then 10 million albums worldwide with Not that Kind & Freak of Nature. Anastacia quickly underwent surgery, 40% was removed from her boobs in her operation. Shortly after the operation, Anastacia was set to record and film the video for Love Is A Crime for the massive Chicago movie. She recorded the song and then went to film the video, despite having a bucket on the side of the video shoot for every time she threw up between the cuts. The song was never released worldwide as promoting the single would be impossible due to her battle with cancer. She made it through till 2003, September, where she went into the studio to record her 3rd studio album, although things where still not that easy:

"... the experience was not pleasant. I usually look for the bright side of things, but so far nothing about making this record was positive for me. My doctor told me I'd be tired, not stupid. I could not focus on anything. I'd write a verse and then I couldn't write the chorus or I'd write the chorus but couldn't write the bridge. I couldn't talk, I couldn't think straight, I was totally out of it. The doctors said I'd be tired - but of course I had insomnia. It was tough ..."

She recorded the album and set for a release for 2004. Anastacia... was back!

Seasons Change

Seasons Change is the opening track to the Anastacia album and also introduces the first ever sound of her new Sprock style. Seasons Change is also the first time Anastacia has done something as "rock" as this. So what is Seasons Change all about? Reality, life, the way it goes, high points and low points but things still move and change. The chorus explains the reality to life, "Happy turns to sad and sometimes life gets bad, things get rearanged and nothing stays the same." The whole point behind Seasons Change is that nothing stays the same, a brilliant message given by Anastacia. Moving away from the lyrics to the style of music. Opened with a heavy chorus and then opened with Anastacia's voice in a very low and deep voice works effectivly with the opening moving on swiftly through the first verse, the chorus and the second verse then comes the warm up to her big note which she hits very well in studio and live. With the song picking up with that rocky tempo the song is ended by Sonny from P.O.D.
Overall the song is a masterpiece and one of the best pieces of work Anastacia has produced.

The song is haunting and dramatic, opening with Amy Lee style vocals and a cutting edge to the song, it's no wonder that this is one of Anastacia's best sellers! The high voiced vocals at the begining was what Anastacia sounded like when she tried to sing during her cancer treatment. We also found out last year that the song was written about her dad, who has sadly passed away. Moving away from the haunting opening, Anastacia shows of her vocals in the darkest style she has ever sung, moving swiftly through the chorus and the verse, still in that dark tone when things slow down and then bam, the big note we've all been expecting from the little one with the big voice. The song then ends fading out with the, "I need to... pray"

I renember reading in an interview anastacia done that she looked to her closest friends, sharon and elton when she was suffering from cancer, her mum and sister gave her suport, but the one person she never asked for help was from her dad, neither did she want it. This might of explained the lyrics to the whole song.
