Posted June 1, 20214 yr Can't believe there has not been a thread on this, I thought this would be right up BuzzJack's street. Did anyone else watch? Following a pattern of HBO limited series, I thought this was pretty excellent. Kate Winslet is absolutely fantastic and while there is lots of soapy drama inbetween the main story, it has meanings, fleshes out the characters of Easttown and by the end, you realise why the sub-plots were needed to bring about one of the final reveals. I do feel this is one show which I really hope doesn't have a second series. But if you have not watched I would highly recommend - suspect this will be heavily nominated at the Emmys.
June 14, 20214 yr It was incredible and my fave show of 2021 so far! I thought it was going to be a slow/ploddy murder mystery, but it had so much emotional depth to it and the performances (Kate and Evan both deserve an Emmy) were truly world class. Gripping too!
June 14, 20214 yr Yeh started watching this at the weekend and on episode three - it’s excellent - Winslet is brilliant in it with the character she’s playing!
