Dream on me should have scraped top 40. The problem was the sample wasn’t upfront and strong enough.

This exactly.

So many tracks were being big because of the sample and that's why I expected it to do things.

But the sample was too buried.

 

for what I understand she said on a R2 interview her 2nd album will be out early 2022,

won't feature no duets and lead single will be out later in the year (Nov)

so... not sure what this is really...

This is a decent song, but just a bit generic. I agree, Dream On Me will be one of her best and deserved so much better :(.

That 2nd album is so long coming that i wont get my hopes up, risk it all isnt bad but i think going to be very throwaway and forgotten quickly.
