It's a first week on top for Norway's Eurovision entry, which sold well without getting the votes on the night, the fab melodic Fallen Angel for TIX. That just keeps off the touchingly fab God Only Knows from For King & Country & Dolly Partin, Dolly getting her biggest ever chart hit for me 45 years on from her first - Jolene. Keith Urban also gets a biggest to date for a Country flavoured top 5. There is so much good music around right now that I love, so newer stuff is struggling to get a look in, and there are huge climbs for Jack Savoretti outdoing the official single with his Grat track at 14 - must be a future single! Regard also bounds into the top 20, after a I saw a youtube performance from a US chat show from the 3 of 'em.

 

James get their biggest hit in years, Beautiful Beaches also top 20, Roisin Murphy keeps her run of cool dance tracks from her album hot at 30, and I also miss being able to dance (as per the lyrics). Duran Duran get a first top 40 for a few years, though they did last top my chart in 2015 so it's not that long ago. Pet Shop Boys, of similar 80's vintage, are also back with tracks off the My Beautiful Laundrette musical, sounding (like Duran) very retro 80's intentionally. Top-rated track at 63 is an instrumental not a million miles away from their Clothes Show theme back in the day, and outdoes their current 10-minute long single about cricket wives!

 

That leaves London Grammar still on form with another great track off their new album, pulled as a single, and Laura Mvula having a return after a gap of 5 years and extending her chart run to 8 years since Green Garden went top 5. I saw her in concert around 2013/14, and found her very engaging so it's nice to have her back.
