with everybody shocked at gene pitneys death saying it's very sad etc etc. i remember reading the obiturary of a bloke called nikki sudden last week, who had a band with his brother epic soundtracks called swell maps.

 

now the obit said that they were very influencial on the worlds of indie. i was just wondering how influencial they were? and who did they influence?

Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore has always touted them as an influence. Sonic Youth themselves are very influential e.g. Nirvana.

 

I'm pretty sure Graham Coxon too.

might be a band to take a chance on with one of their early albums?
