I tried to transcribe Tina Turner's ad-lib at the end of Living For The City (Stevie Wonder wrote it and sang it first), but I can't make out some words. I want to know her words from minute 3:25 on.

hard to make out, sounds like They ain't hardly got no home?

I think her words are:

 

They ain't hardly got no pause on their back

Ain't no covers on their bed

Hardly a roof over their head

"ain't hardly got no clothes on their back" would fit in with the original song lyrics more?

 

(Her clothes are old, but never are they dirty)

Thank you. I was wondering if the word is "poles" or "pause". But now I'm convinced that it is "pulls" (short for "pullovers").
