Random thought on the sport climbing - the scoring system is certainly interesting with them multiplying each climber's position in each discipline and then ranking them lowest to higheest scores. On the one hand it basically guarantees a medal to the winner of each discipline, which is quite an ingenoius way of only needing one set of medals when it could really do with three. But on the other hand it makes the scores so random - if the Czech climber Adam Ondra had won the lead climbing he would have taken gold, but instead he finished second in the discipline and ended up sixth :lol: doesn't particularly seem fair!

And we get a gold in the Modern Pentathlon for Kate French! I do feel for them having to try and control those horses they met 20 minutes ago though.

You need a bit of luck in the horse draw. The poor German woman was in tears after her horse refused to do anything. Kate French was so good in that running and shooting final section.

It just seems that it turns into a lottery with the show jumping and having 20 minutes with the horse for me. Well done Kate French on gold.

Another GB gold medal in modern pentathlon. I thought he might get overtaken by the Egyptian at the end of the run but he still had something in reserve.

I don't remember us ever doing so well in Modern Pentathlon so a bit of a shock to see us dominate it! Well done to the guy from Egypt for getting Africa's first medal in the event as well.
