My personal chart "Grazios Dainos" ("Beautiful songs" on Lithuanian) was launched in March 2019. Now it's time to celebrate 100th edition with top 100 best songs from this time period.

 

Somewhere in 2012 year I almost lost any interest in chart music, so only some popular singers reached top 100 with their hits. I don't have any big constant good sources for new music, such as national official charts for retro years.

 

This countdown may be interesting, if you

- like to discover new acts, which didn't hear before

- don't have anything against non-English language songs

- big fan of pure pop or schlager music

- have a special place for Lithuanian beauties in your heart

100. Clara Klingenstrom - Behover Inte Dig Idag - 7.5

 

Country : Sweden

 

 

It's my second favourite song from last Melodifestivalen (Swedish national pre-selection for Eurovision).

99. Marija Akelan - Lopsine - 7.5

 

Country : Lithuania

 

 

"Lopsine" ("Lullaby") was the first song, which is not available on her debut album "Eternity of Dreams". Little girl in this video is Marija's five years old daughter Sofia.

 

There is also Russian version, if you not a fan of Lithuanian language.

 

98. Christie Lamb - Kiss About It - 7.5

 

Country : Australia

 

 

"Hot Hot Kiss" was debut entry for Christie in "Gražios Dainos", when reached # 7 in April 2019.

97. Ivana Jordan - Vila - 7.5

 

Country : Serbia

 

 

Ivana Jordan became the second Serbian act with hit in my chart, the previous was girl group Moje 3 and their Eurovision entry "Ljubav Je Svuda" in 2013 year.

 

96. Lesley Roy - Story Of My Life - 7.5

 

Country : Ireland

 

 

After 3 wins in 1970s Ireland finally did it again. "Story Of My Life" is only one song, which I like from last 2 Eurovision contests (2020 and 2021). Russian entry "Believe Me" (2004) was the previous # 1 in my yearly Eurovision ranking, which got less than 8/10.

95. Melissa Naschenweng - Difigiano - 7.5

 

Country : Austria

 

 

I loved some Melissa songs (especially "Gott Is A Dirndl" and "I Steh Auf Bergbauernbuam") before the re-lauch of this chart, but after "LederHosenRock" she became my # 1 favourite schlager singer.

94. Hannah - Aussa Mit Die Depf - 7.5

 

Country : Austria

 

 

"Aussa Mit Die Depf" was the first single from her # 1 album "Kinder Vom Land".

93. Delta Goodrem - Only Santa Knows - 7.5

 

Country : Australia

 

 

Now it's time for the first well-known act from this list. Many years ago Delta had two wonderful number ones in my chart (Innocent Eyes, Not Me Not I).

92. Kristin Kalnapenk - Find A Way - 7.5

 

Country : Estonia

 

 

Kristin was my favourite in Eesti Laul - 2021 with very old-fashioned song "Find A Way"

91. Lina - Meins - 7.5

 

Country : Germany

 

 

I can recommend young German singer Lina Larissa Strahl for Taylor Swift fans, last album "R3bellin" (2018) obviously was inspired by "Reputation"

 

"100 Prozent" still my favourite her song.

90. Anna-Carina Woitschack - Leuchtturm - 7.5

 

Country : Germany

 

 

Two songs with a title "Lighthouse" were represented in "Grazios Dainos", but Synne Valtri - Majakad didn't reach top 100 in overall list.

89. Nataliya Vetlitzkaya - Bereza - 7.5

 

Country : Russia

 

 

After 16 years of silence Nataliya recorded new song "Bereza" (Birch). Honestly I'm not a big fan of this release, but it's a wonderful feeling to listen something fresh from the most stylish and beautiful Russian singer. Her "Raba Lyubvi" (Slave of Love) is my favourite song from 1995 year, which deserved very rare 10 out of 10 points from me.

88. Natalija Bunke - Iki Menulio Ir Atgal - 7.5

 

Country : Lithuania

 

 

"Iki Menulio Ir Atgal" is one of four solo songs of YVA leader in top 100.

87. Mango - Reikejo Tiek Nedaug - 7.5

 

Country : Lithuania

 

 

"Reikejo Tiek Nedaug" destroyed the impressive chain of consecutive # 1 hits for legendary Lithuanian girl group Mango in "Gražios Dainos".

86. Skupina Zakapane - Atmosfera - 7.5 (1 week at # 1)

 

Country : Slovenia

 

 

"Atmosfera" was third Slovenian # 1 in my chart after Atomik Harmonik - Turbo Polka and ManuElla - Blue and Red. Also it's the lowest from 42 "Gražios Dainos" chart toppers in this countdown.

85. LaFee - Halt Mich Fest - 7.5

 

Country : Germany

 

 

"Halt Mich Fest" is German language cover version of 80s A-ha hit "Take On Me", which was recorded by LaFee for her new album "Zuruck In Die Zukunft".

84. Lucifer - Midnight Phantom - 7.5

 

Country : Germany

 

 

Rock group Lucifer was discovered through Google search engine, when I wrote "beautiful blonde singers in rock music".

83. Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen - Never Give Up On Hope - 7.5

 

Country : Netherlands

 

 

Dutch beauty Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen easily became my all-time # 1 favourite singer. "Never Give Up On Hope" is her first from 14 (!!!) songs in this countdown.

82. Anna Fuks - Fly Higher - 7.5

 

Country : Belarus

 

 

Belarusian auditions for Eurovision 2020 surprisingly produced two hits for "Gražios Dainos".
