This is returning later this year as 'The Beaker Girls'!

Dani Harmer returns as the irrepressible Tracy Beaker, and Emma Maggie Davies as her book-smart, sassy, surprisingly tough daughter Jess in new five-part series The Beaker Girls, to air later this year on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

There will also be some familiar faces returning: Jordan Duvigneau is back as Sean Godfrey, Lisa Coleman as Cam, Montana Thompson as Justine and Danielle Henry as Mary, along with newcomer Chi-Megan Ennis McLean as Jordan and Alibe Parsons as junk shop owner, Flo.

The Beaker Girls are loving their new life running the Dumping Ground junk shop in the quirky seaside town of Cooksea. The wheeler-dealer duo are making new friends - but also enemies, and a whole lot of trouble.

When Jordan, a runaway teen who has been repeatedly failed by the care system, finds her way into the Beaker Girls’ cosy family, Tracy’s life seems to have come full circle as she contemplates becoming a foster parent. But will Jess ever be ready to share her mum?

I'm not really sure why Sean Godfrey needs to return, it kinda seems like his story with Tracy was sewn up in MMTB, but I'm looking forward to it!

Exciting *.* so pleased we're getting more Beaker! Would love to see one or two more familiar faces from the original series too.

This completely passed me by, but it’s been on CBBC this week! You can catch up on the iplayer, and there is a Christmas special on Friday ;) (which the TV guide listing says has something along the lines of ‘surprise returns’...)

I really enjoyed it, more than My Mum Tracy Beaker I think! The extra breathing space to develop the characters was great and I suppose a chunk of them are more established now.

I need a series 2 for Tracy and Peter to get married pls and ty

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m thinking, though I’m not sure how I feel about Sean Godfrey’s ‘redemption’ after how he treated Tracy.

And I’ve also just found out that not only was Peter recast for My Mum Tracy Beaker... but he has been recast yet again for this series!

I rly enjoyed this more than My Mum Tracey Beaker, the characters felt more real and established even if choatic at times.

I ship Peter and Tracey so hard.

Also can they please stop calling "sean godfrey" by his full name every time he breathes, it annoys me so much just call him Sean.

The Christmas special was so boring. Not a fan of how everyone seems to be getting called their full name. Meh

Please tell me the one and only 'Sean Godfrey' isn't in it?

Not so far! And I can’t really see where he’d fit into the story now anyway.
