Thanks for this great presentation, Doctor B! Elated that my 12 pointer qualified (I'll keep that a mystery so it isn't blindingly obvious given my DNQ votes about to be posted x), although sadly I lost the rest of my top 3, Rolloland was absolutely beautiful and was really close to my 12, I thought it would be fine as well :( Hopefully Semi 1 has some good pointers to fill the gap.

I guess I can't complain much asides from that, I really thought all the dance in Semi 2 would cancel each other out, but it seemed to go the other way for the most part! Intrigued how they'll all do in the final now.

I don't know if the narrow DNQ for Jadakissnia is made more or less painful for knowing that it got 94% of its points from just 5 people - I guess it's good that the people who liked it liked it a lot!

It narrowly missed out on my votes- kicking myself now that I didn't wait to vote until later as I gave away my big points to songs that ended up being pretty safe.. still think we should have had 20 Qs this month personally but let's not get into that argument here !

I had to dip out midway as my partner wanted me to watch the last Spider-Man film with him, but that made for an extremely dramatic read! So chuffed to qualify with an entry true to our roots :P Thanks to those who voted for it :wub:

Srsly tho I have been contemplating for a while if we should tweak the format guidelines to revolve round a Final of 40+AQs and then regardless of if we’re just over or just under 60, we’d have a little more consistency to the number qualifying and the number of finalists.

I say just do it for 56+ participants, it wasn’t like it made a difference in 2018

Nnn well I wouldn't be against just allowing the extra 2 qualifiers regardless but I'm not sure there's a way for my input on any such debate to be divorced from blatant bias right now

 

(I mean it would be letting in both my fave and my least fave from semi 1 tbf...!)

Personally I think it would be a bit unfair to allow songs that have been eliminated since now we know who voted for them and also a bit about who would have voted for them which gives them an advantage (people might give them higher scores than otherwise since they know how poorly they performed in the semi). Also I'd probably be a bit miffed personally seeing as I was only 1 point off from 20th place lol.

 

But I am 100% for making it a solid 20 Q's for every contest from here on out.
