Now that The Evolution has leaked (PM me or Kelly for the link) what are your thoughts? In my view it is THE best R & B album of the year, much more mature and better than her debut, and it deserves to do great things in the charts, however I'm certain the only place that will happen is in America :( I predict a low top 20 placing over here however

My favourites from the album so far have to be That's Right, Like A Boy (second single, amazing song!), I Proceed, My Love and I Found Myself. What are yours? Discuss ^_^

Amazing piece of R&B.

I'm more than inclined to agree with both of you ^_^

I think My Love is superb, it's VERY Mary J. Blige, but that's why I love it.

I adore Mary J Blige, Be Without You was amazing! ^_^

I completely agree, My Love is one of the stand-out tracks, I hope it is released as a single at some point - I think it would work well as a third single

I agree. ^_^

Have you heard the new Mary J. Blige track? It's called We Ride? It's practically identical to Be Without You.

I shall download ^_^ but I've heard she's releasing MJB Da MVP next for Reflections - big mistake IMO, those who already own The Breakthrough - probably the majority of her fans, the most likely people to buy an MJB single - will have no incentive to buy it :(

Although it is fab

Yeah the video (a collage from all of her other videos) has been on TV, MJB Da MVP is quite good I like it, there's a longer version of it on Reflections though, about a minute longer, but the single is the version from The Breakthrough.

We will get We Ride eventually I assume. ^_^

American labels just never seem to understand how the British charts work. Brits aren't gonna take a song from an album they've already bought as promotion for a GH

Certainly not.

Ja Rule did that with his 2nd single from his R.U.L.E album, Wonderful (UK #1) was the first single and the second single was Caught Up... which was the B-side to Wonderful. :manson:

But look at the dreadful sales for both, Wonderful nearly broke lowest weeekly sale records from the week before from Eric Prydz and broke lowest selling overall total for number one, and Caught Up briefly peaked in the top 20 and disappeared quickly - had there been any decent competition, I reckon Ja Rule wouldn't have even made top 3 that week.

Oh I love both tracks.  Just highlighting the stupidity of the record company, to release a track that was featured on the previous singles b-side. -_-

Bareing in mind that The Breakthrough's sales were nothing short of DIABOLICAL here choosing "MJB da MVP" as the single to lead it isn't that stupider decision, yes "We Ride" would have been better but her label messed up on timing and the entire purpose of this GHs is to sell massively over christmas (more esp in the US). So the label had to put something out and that is the single we've got.

Its not doing too shabbily either currently #27 on iTunes and climbing. No-one should expect a massive hit, this sort of music never does well here....

Well considering it's Mary J. Blige I think about 170k isn't too bad! :o

I've had this album forced onto me, so I'll be listening when I get home.

It's for a GOOD CAUSE. The love of Ciara

And I'm sure Grami would agree that you can hardly complain about people forcing music onto you

And no more 'Ciairychest' schtick :smoke:

This album was also forced on me -_-

I have listened to about half the album so far, and i rate it 7/10 :D

Like A Boy is quite good :o :D!
