Well… this aged well :lol:

 

Overall a good episode… I dunno about who went home though. electra was just going mental to be honest with little actual lip sunc.

 

Kinda felt Anubis has a bit more to give.

 

River Medway though was hilarious! So glad she made it through. Loved Victoria and Scarlett too. Chorizo was so sweet and funny as well. Overall a good start to the season.

 

A strange first challenge though… what happened to the photo shoot?

What was the need to have the top two lip sync, it was boring too.

A great first episode! My favourite part was when Victoria couldn't make it to the bowl to pick a movie title :lol: The way she dramatically fell and then plopped her head down at the end had me crying. :lol:

 

A really great batch of queens this season! Early favourites are Victoria, Veronica, Chorizo May and Charity Kase. Although I like the rest of the cast and feel my favourites are going to change a lot as the season goes on!

 

Really sad to see Anubis go home first. I thought they did better in the lip sync. You could hardly see Elektra lip syncing with all her moving most of the time. Anubis looked like they would've been really interesting.

 

So happy River got through to another week! I love their personality and the pointing thing was really funny.

 

I was surprised to see Scarlett in the top, I thought quite a few of the other queens had better looks. I feel like the 80s nostalgia of her second look is what got her in the top (as opposed to the look itself).

 

Was glad to see Krystal and Victoria in the top 2. They did the best overall (Krystal's cat look was so fierce). I thought Victoria would've won the lip sync but it looks like she was quite contrained by her outfit. Although in saying that, Krystal gave such good face. It was stunning! Gives me a little Tacye vibes.

 

I hope the rest of the season is as good as the first episode!

 

I don’t get how Elektra was even bottom, the critiques made so little sense especially when Kitty got away with that hometown look which looked like it was made with bunched purple film which isn’t even the same colour as Cadbury’s packaging! Second look was poor too.

 

Saying that though my god I got my life during that lipsync, poor Anubis stood no chance. She was one of the exciting ones before the challenge kicked off so sad she screwed it up across the board.

 

Faves are Elektra, Victoria, Charity and Choriza. Really not liking Krystal tbh, I get that she won because Victoria messed up the lipsync but I don’t find her drag that exciting even if it is technically good. Plus I get HUGE A’Whora vibes. Nah thanks.

I found the judging really all over the place! I get why Krystal was top 2 although her drag is not my thing, but Victoria clearly was the best across both looks. Both of hers were out there and campy, but in different ways. I like that she's not just there as a token, she really just brought her own level of camp and totally sold every single inch of those looks. I thought she gave a better lipsync, it felt more her with a bit of flair whereas Krystal just did a generic "giving face" kind of lipsync.

 

I'd probably have gone:

 

Top 2: Victoria and Charity

High: Vanity, Krystal

Low: Kitty

Bottom 2: Elektra and Veronica

 

Honestly... I don't think Anubis should have even been low? The second look admittedly was not great but the first was. I thought Elektra's were both meh and Veronica's second was so ugly with her first one being forgettable at best. Kitty's were both so basic too although they looked ok, she needs to give more. She's giving me Baga vibes both in the loud personality (in a bit of a try hard rather than endearing way) and the meh looks, perhaps she will grow. River I would save from a low placement just because she really sold that first look. I just think Veronica is SO boring, go girl give us nothing :drama:

 

So far I'm loving Victoria, River, Scarlett and Choriza the most, I love Charity's drag but I need more from her as a person, which hopefully we get to see in the coming episodes. I'm not finding Krystal to be particularly warm or likeable, I'm hoping she's not given a favoritism fashion queen edit. I agree with Doug there just isn't that excitement there for me, of course it's only been one episode but I feel like you know what's to come from her already.

We know I always predict them wrong! Having said that, Krystal's first look was straight up shit, literally one step of Joey Jay's IV bag runway, although her second was good. For me, solidly safe.

 

I would have had Victoria, Charity and Choriza as the top 3 of the week.

 

Veronica Green was for me 100% bottom 2 this episode - as she was in season 2 after her simple plain red dress for her 'hometown' look.

 

Clearly Brighton is just cursed though! Thought Anubis held her own in the lipsync mind.

I thought Anubis did well in the lipsync too, people are acting like it was straight up murder and Elektra did deserve that win, but Anubis gave it her own spin. It was just the wrong song sadly, I do feel Anubis has more to give than Elektra.

Can easily see the 'we need something sexy from you' comments coming in week three), Choriza (the name! iconic), Scarlett (such a sweetheart), Kitty (cracked me up) and Vanity (especially her first look was SO good).

 

The bottom three were the right one for me, although I think Veronica deserved to be there as well. Elektric did a good lip sync, although it didn't fit the song at all. Maybe wasn't helped by her looking like a five year old, but still.

Veronica Green adds absolutely nothing and probably should have been in the bottom at the very least as well as Kitty (? The ABBA one).

 

I'm v underwhelmed tbh, the only ones I really liked off the bat were Victoria and Anubis so they've kinda lost me already this season with that judging. The fact there's no Scottish queen's either. River Medway is really likeable but her drag is gonna be weaker I feel, the Tia Koffi of her season maybe :lol:

This is what I worry about, I know she had a different style that was more limiting but Ginny last season got that. They can never just accept that someone's drag doesn't fit their often narrow view of what drag should be. I'm sure Charity is skilled enough with her makeup and design skills that she can fit that, but why should she have to?

I wanted to like Charity more than I did. It felt very samey overall really and like you know what she's going to do. I get that certain queens have certain lanes etc, but I don't know it just got a bit meh by the end of the episode.

It was an ok first episode. I thought the mini challenge was horrendous but love the big runway they always so in episode 1. I really like Victoria and actually thought she had the most elevated drag. Kitty will get dragged for her proportions.

 

I think Veronica is definitely going to struggle because everything is very high. She will definitely be out in the first crop, meh.

Boring ass people on Facebook comments in their droves saying what Charity does isn't drag :rofl: I completely understand if her drag is not to your taste, but why do fans love to gatekeep so much? Drag can be absolutely anything and it's so tiring that season after season people like to try to box drag into only being "fish"/fashion.

 

Some fans deadass just want to see a whole lineup of Krystal Versaces serving face and c**t all season, thrilling.
