Kicking off the top 100 we have 5 Seconds Of Summer, firmly in last place having only scored 159 points. We did have fewer voters this year than last where the whole list passed 200 points, but 'Youngblood' was rather lucky to auto-qualify to the final in the first place having finished 5th in the weakest year of the decade [2018 had no songs pass through the semi-finals]. They do get the accolade of having the decade's best regarded boyband hit although we still have an appearance from Harry Styles to come. It is their first top 100 appearance having made it to the semis in the past two years.

Avicii is up next. With four songs in the final he is one of the most represented performers here and it is a particularly good year for his music, although he was quite lucky having got 'Lonely Together' in the final having finished 22nd in its semi-final. It finishes in a still respectable 99th, a 20 place increase on last year.

The results are full of surprises and the first of these comes in the bottom five where two former top 10 finishers have really fallen out of favour with Buzzjack this year. Dua Lipa is down to #98 with 'New Rules', having been in the top 40 for its first three years. Her newer material seems to have been better received this year with three tracks from 'Future Nostalgia' still in contention which has perhaps took away some attention from this which was once considered her signature hit.

Loreen's Eurovision winner 'Euphoria' was a consistent presence in the top area of Record of the Decade for many years, but having fell out of the top 20 for the first time last year, it goes one step further this time, and a few more, to end up way down at #96. Quite an accolade to have finished top 5 and bottom 5 in a RotD final really but it just goes to show anything can happen in this contest. The song must have lost a few fans over the years with the excitement over its win and high UK chart placing having long faded. It will get one more chance next year to redeem itself but until then it just isn't the big forum fave it once was.

Sandwiched between the year's two biggest losers is Little Mix. It hadn't been a great year for them with quite a few of their songs falling out of favour this year however 'Move' continues its perfect top 100 run albeit now at a new low of #97. They are still in the running with 'Sweet Melody' however which now cements itself as their forum fave.

Disclosure continue to get their two big breakthrough hits in the RotD final however at least 'White Noise' continues to be fairly underrated, finishing once again in the bottom few sections of the final and indeed falling a bit this year down to #95. Last year it finished side by side with 'Latch' however the latter has avoided the bottom ten this year. Major Lazer continue to make the final yet finish bottom 10 as 'Lean On' continues a very stable run at #93 this year.

Calvin Harris takes a bit of a tumble with 'Pray To God' down to #94 though he still has a few songs left in the running including 'We Found Love' which has its last chance to win this year. HAIM are also back in the final with 'Falling' which is now confirmed to overtake this. Another big EDM hit from Lana Del Rey & Cedric Gervais tumbles to #91. It has been a good year for Lana however as she does have four more songs still to come in the countdown.

Taking a huge climb this year we have The Weeknd now entering the final 100 for the first time with 'Can't Feel My Face'. It is one of three songs for him in the final this year which includes the debut of 'Blinding Lights', a song so big it perhaps helped give a boost to his older material this year (though it really should've been 'The Hills' in this position).

I always thought 2018 was weak but surprised that so many others think the same.

And that is shockingly low for Euphoria, I guess it's partly the voters but also a Eurovision winner, even a well-regarded one, has a much tougher time of staying in the minds of people almost a decade after the fact.

Wow what a fall for 'New Rules'! As touched upon in the commentary I guess it's because 'Future Nostalgia' is (deservedly) lapping up a lot of attention instead where she's concerned. Although The Weeknd has done the opposite, with 'Can't Feel My Face' registering such a climb despite the BuzzJack-friendly 'After Hours' material. I agree that it should've been 'The Hills' instead though :kink:

That is a pretty erratic run for 'Move'! Shame to see it taking its biggest tumble to date although at least it's done well enough to be their second most popular song here.

A number of songs in this next section are on their final year of charting as they’re 2011 songs. We also have a number of massive climbers into the top 100, and out first new entry at 81. At 90 Mabel manages to climb a place to reach a new high position with ‘Don’t Call Me Up’, it is the sole song of hers to make it out of the first round heats and gained backing from 11 voters. 89 see’s Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne’s ‘Rather Be’ slide 32 places to reach an all-time low position, the song finished 3rd in its 2014 group however in the final it’s the lowest of 8 2014 songs to make it this far. This is also the first time that ‘Rather Be’ has finished behind ‘Symphony in the final vote and the latter becomes Clean Bandit’s highest placed song.

88 see’s a high climb for ‘Strong’ which reaches the final for the first time, it actually only gained 8 votes in the final, however it is by far its best year to date. Also climbing to reach an all-time high position is ‘Wish You Well’ which surges 75 places after reaching the final round for the first time. The song finished 5th in its 2019 group and is also the 5th highest ranked 2019 song in the final round.

At 86, ‘levels’ drops 27 places in its final year, it does however manage to retain its top 100 position which is gained 4 years ago. There’s a cluster of other 2011 songs here as ‘Set Fire to the Rain climbs 17 places back in to the top 100 after dropping out last year and finishes at its 2nd highest ever position. Rounding out a hattrick of 2011 songs is ‘I Follow Rivers’ which was nominated for the first time this year and debuts at 81. The song actually gained 16 votes in total which is quite a good showing, however it didn't seem to get many big votes to really push it into contention. Unfortunately, it won’t be eligible next year, however I guess it goes to show how some nominations can take off.

Also in this section we see a massive fall for ‘Shallow’ which reach an all-time high position of 23rd last year, this year however it slide 62 places to reach an all-time low position. It’s the first of only 3 Lady Gaga songs to make it to the final this year and it seems like a lot of support for Pop acts has fallen a bit this year. We also see a drop for ‘Let it Happen’ which drops 58-83 and drops to an all-time low position and also a climb for ‘Still into You’ which manages to climb back into the top 100 after dropping out last year.

Crazy that 'I Follow Rivers' wasn't a part of this competition until its very last eligible year! I'm happy it was picked up in the end and made it to this point, great song

Great results & I'm loving the detail guys!

Thrilled that that godawful remix of Summertime Sadness is now Lana's lowest. Not surprised in a way at the Eurphoria drop although it's harder than I expected, because the style now sounds a bit dated!

God... Levels only #86 to end its decade? :(

I actually made sure I listened to every song in this final and then ranked them all, there were a few that I'd not heard and some were decent discoveries (Still Into You, West Coast) but one which definitely wasn't was that 5SOS song, feels completely random for it to have got this far. I ranked it 99th ahead of only Mabel so pleased to see both of them drop out already.

A shame about the big fall for Let It Happen but I continue to be amazed it does so well anyway!

Poor brave 5 Seconds of Summer. They came last but at least they're top 100.

New Rules is still my fave Dua Lipa song. -_-

Not complaining about Euphoria big drop. I've never been a fan of it!

Wish You Well is my fave 2019 song. Great to see it top 100 this time.

Levels so low. This is heresy!

I Follow Rivers

I actually came across it randomly in a cafe and thought I absolutely had to find out what it was. Amazing enchanting track.

I actually only discovered I Follow Rivers fairly recently, I knew it was fairly acclaimed though and thought I'd throw it a nomination, proud that it got all the way to the final *.* I do prefer the Magician remix, but it's a great song, pleased we see that ten years later!

This was an amazing final so naturally we are going to lose some great songs already, but shame for the fall for Levels on its last year. Let It Happen too, but it did great to make the final for the second year in a row!

that's a big shame for Levels to drop so much in its last year but at least it managed a 4th year top 100 in the first place. great to see Sigala & Becky make it this year too.

Last year was an unexpectedly good one for Arcade Fire with them getting two songs into the top 40. Both of those remain in the Final this year but at least one of them is a big faller with 'Everything Now' sliding down to #80, falling behind 'Reflektor' which is yet to come. Lana Del Rey hit a new peak with 'Ride' last year and now takes a small dive to #79 on its second year in the Final. Having finished just below 'Summertime Sadness' last year it has held up better but she still has three more tracks better-regarded.

Eight tracks from last year made it into the final this time and the first of these to fall comes from Little Mix, with 'Sweet Melody' being the newest song in the whole Final, still fresh in our minds having belatedly peaked at #1 at the top of this year. The song now becomes the highest entry for the group which could perhaps be joined next year by 'Heartbreak Anthem'.

Grimes continues to climb up the chart with 'Kill V. Maim', having just scraped through to a final position yet again (having finished 25th in its semi for 2 years it must be the luckiest song in RotD) it managed to keep more of its fanbase for the Final now with it up to #77. It also means her other track 'Flesh Without Blood' is in for a climb this year (#79 last year) the question is will it be able to return to the top 40.

Disclosure rebound with 'Latch' to #76, now on its 6th outing in the Final but it is still yet to reach the top 40. Next year will be its final chance. Clean Bandit make a small climb with 'Symphony' to #74 (now their top song with 'Rather Be' having sunk to #89) and Calvin & Dua take a fall to #73 with 'One Kiss'. One of the big EDM hits of 2013 makes the Final for the first time in 'Animals' from Martin Garrix, shooting up to #75 this year having only made the semis once before.

Two songs from 2011 bow out at #72 and #71, unfortunately for J-Lo 'On The Floor' takes a huge tumble having finished on a high at #28 last year. It had a decent run though never finishing below the top 200. Florence doesn't quite manage to return to the top 40 where she once started with 'Shake It Out' but makes a small climb to finish her run.

I make no apologies for the continued success of Kill Vs Maim and hope it continues forever. Gotta keep racking up these cult classics (by a chart forum's standards) - by which metric it was about time we got 'I Follow Rivers' in.

Bit of an expected drop for Everything Now, I hope Reflektor doesn't suffer the same fate though.

Forgot Arcade Fire did so well last year - two songs in the top 80 of the decade is still pretty great!

Forgot to vote this year. My top five would have been:

1. Don't You Worry Child

2. Faded

3. Changed The Way You Kissed Me

4. Starboy

5. Animals

All great tracks, thou I don't think any will be anywhere close winning and Animals already out.

'Latch' is absolutely stunning - easily one of my favourite dance songs of the 2010s - so yay for that climb.

Pleased to see Grimes reaching a new peak <3 ArtAngels was a terrific era.

Not a bad start for 'Sweet Melody'. Happy to welcome it into the fold!
