6. Artists who had their first Number 1 album in the 2020s

She got her driver’s license last week, her first #1 album earlier in the year and is now the most remembered person on Buzzjack to do so! A lot of people definitely fell into the trap of thinking ‘The Lathums are obscure, they’ll be a nice obscure answer here’ as recency gives them the second highest scorer here. Dua Lipa is also a head above the rest but after that the remainder of the answers are fairly bunched together. Dave is the most popular incorrect answer here (Psychodrama went #1 in 2019 as well) and judging by his answers Mango definitely misread the word ‘album’ as ‘single’!

I only remembered YUNGBLUD at the very last second so glad I hopped onto that as I was torn between putting Rodrigo & The Lathums otherwise.

The Snuts, I knew there was another indie band I was trying to think off for this question, that was it. And I think I was confusing them with Sports Team who I know was infamously held off by Gaga.

Edited by Dobbo.

Not me not even putting Olivia because I misread the question as the year 2020 rather than the decade.

7. Top 40 singles containing a colour in the title

Another case of me definitely misjudging the number of potential correct answers here! The most popular answers were Eiffel 65 and Coldplay by quite a margin though, with a string of other answers lower down (plenty of people simply guesses ‘red’ leading to me trying to work out whether you might have meant the Daniel Merriweather or Taylor Swift variety). All that hard work then picking a 6-pointer lol.

Also fair play to whoever had the patience to type out the Bombalurina track!

Edited by Dobbo.

Another case of me picking the wrong one here although in this case i'd actually already realised i'd made the wrong choice but ran out of time to change it (would have substituted Black Velvet for Blue Velvet).

Oop- Blue Jeans and Green Garden were one pointers as well, thought they would be higher because they did well in ROTD. Very bad at picking my best answer clearly.

Edited by Dot Branning

My problem with this was that I kept doubting myself about whether things were correct and panicking and then putting something too “safe” for my final answer. Great format though!

8. Number 1 singles since 2010 (inclusive) that do not credit any artists from the UK, USA, Canada or Australia

I deliberately included this question as I discovered quite a while ago that there haven’t been any #1s matching this description since 7 Years all the way back in 2016! (Lukas Graham being whatever the opposite of trailblazers is called). However thankfully there were quite a few more at the start of the 2010s leaving at least a few answers to stick your teeth into. Rihanna is interestingly low, I would guess because she ‘feels’ like she should be American even though she isn’t. Iyaz is a contentious one I know as he’s from the British Virgin Islands but I guess the wording ‘from the UK’ lets him slip through. And plenty of people mis-guessed the nationalities of Yolanda Be Cool and DCup – they’re Australian!

9. Artists who have had a new Top 40 single over the age of 50 (either solo or as featured artist)

Ahh, what a lovely question to mark (or not, given that I had to look up each artist’s birth date and then last Top 40 single to verify whether they were right or not). Aaand that’s it for the fun bit as I’m left with a ton of disclaimers to write. First off, you’re all incredibly unlucky with the Kylie guess as she was just over a month away from her 50th when Dancing came out! Second, if the artist died before reaching 50 (see Elvis) or didn’t have any hits whilst they were still alive over the age of 50 (see Michael Jackson) I didn’t count them – sorry! And finally there were a few issues with bands, in particular Blondie - I only counted a band as correct if all its members at the time of releasing the song, and unfortunately Clem Burke and Jimmy Destri were both 49 when their last Top 40 hit, 'Good Boys' was released.

3. Songs which have fallen from Number 1 to outside the Top 10

(Apologies for posting a Christmas song in October, but I bet some of you are strange and are listening to Christmas songs already)

Another set with thankfully less correct answers! In general here the songs which fell out of the Top 10 thanks to ACR were considerably less well remembered than the novelty singles which debuted at #1 then fell dramatically on their second weeks. LadBaby takes 3 of the top 4, the only interloper being McFly who held the record for the biggest drop from #1 up until the NHS Choir broke it in some style. A lot of people seemed to have imagined a week in which Mariah dropped from the top (in reality she was overtaken by Wham before her fast exit) and people are probably glad they didn’t put their bets on Jailhouse Rock as it only fell to #10!

10. Buzzjack members who have hosted a quiz in any of the Chart Forum Quiz Series

No surprise really that I was the most guessed host in the quiz I was hosting, and pleasantly there were actually quite a few ex-quiz hosts who finished quite high! The long list of incorrect answers is amusing though, ranging from the sensible to the ridiculous and inclusing people I'm not sure even exist (Crazy Dan anyone?) although if anyone in the 'Incorrect' section actually has hosted a chart quiz please let me know, that's an awful lot of guesses for Jade and Dobbo guessing himself when I didn't see any evidence of him hosting one on my list made me question my sources!

OK thanks :)

LMAO the two answers I knew were correct were obviously going to score high (which they did) so I thought i'd pick one of my random guesses on the off chance it was correct.
Added it in now - it got 7 points and Bré guessed it as well. No idea why my Python script suddenly decided to forget it!

No problem - thanks Pete!
