February 21, 20223 yr I like Jack, although moreso his collaborations with Kylie and Sigma than his solo stuff, but he'd stand a very good chance of doing well with the juries with a strong song, he's a very talented performer. I've seen a few other names bandied about, like Chelcee Grimes, a singer/pop songwriter (Kylie/Dua/Blackpink/Kesha/Olly Murs/Jonas Blue etc) from Liverpool who hosted the BBC semi-final Eurovision coverage last year. Various others are mulled over in this thread: https://twitter.com/LeonJames22/status/1495085221242458120 I particularly like the suggestion it could be Sweet Talker! Taking an established chart hit and running with it would be very unlike the BBC so I don't see it. The BBC could really announce it any day now. Edited February 21, 20223 yr by gooddelta
February 21, 20223 yr Jack Savoretti i really like alot of his releases but never would have expected him to go for Eurovision but id be more than happy to see him give it a go.
February 22, 20223 yr I don’t think he would be a bad choice. Would love it if we sent a bilingual English/Italian song
March 2, 20223 yr Is it me or does it feel like its taking a long time to announce this years UK act?, feel like its norm Feb when find out
March 2, 20223 yr Is it me or does it feel like its taking a long time to announce this years UK act?, feel like its norm Feb when find out With the situation in Ukraine, perhaps the BBC have (rightly) reconsidered how/when to make the announcement.
March 2, 20223 yr Author I think they've just left it late. Based on nothing in particular but rumours about how TaP music has been acting (letting go of Dua) and some of the language used in the press announcements, perhaps an initial plan or other fell through and they're not confident.
March 2, 20223 yr I also heard rumours about James TW being the representative so let's see how it goes.
March 2, 20223 yr Sam Ryder seems to be another name floating about quite a lot over the last few days
March 2, 20223 yr Sam Ryder’s song ‘Tiny Riot’ would have been quite a good entry with some decent staging.
March 2, 20223 yr Tje BBTory is conpletely confused about what to send, after last year's songs that did well. They were so convinced that Europe wanted MOR or ch3esy happy pop that now they are completrly lost!
March 2, 20223 yr Not even had an "announcement of an announcement" announcement yet so I agree they are leaving it pretty late for the reveal. I can also see the argument that the Ukraine situation has made them less keen to announce anything yet.
March 3, 20223 yr The rumour seems to be our entry is Sam Ryder with ‘SPACE MAN’ and 3 minute version is to be released when they announce it. If true it’s definitely a different way of releasing the entry. I suppose with it being Scott Mills Tune of the Week it will get people to listen to it without them knowing it’s for Eurovision. The song does sound a bit BBC at Eurovision though but it could do alright with some good staging. Knowing the BBC though they will just give the trumpet’s from last year a paint and turn them into rockets. Edited March 3, 20223 yr by darrens94
