October 28, 20213 yr It was a really great epsiode and the snatch game was generally really good! Kitty and Ella dominated, Scarlett did well and I liked Vanity. Choriza, Krystal and River had some funny moments and weren't bad. They just ran out of steam/jokes. What on earth was River wearing on the runway though. :lol: I am so sad to see both her and Choriza go. But that lip sync was a mess/lacking so much energy... Reminded me of Vivienne Pinay vs. Honey Mahogany. So not surprised to see both go.
October 28, 20213 yr I am SO freakin' done with this show. Scarlett had one of the most one-note snatch games I have ever seen and possibly one of the worst ever looks, yet was praised. Choriza meaning eliminated even though she was one of the strongest queens? Vanity Milan in the top 5? I just don't understand any of this. At least Kitty and Ella were both FAB and both deserved a win, shame it was not a double win.

October 28, 20213 yr God this has to be one of the worst seasons of the show ever (UK and US at least) River was completely fine in that lip sync and much much worse has been allowed to stay. I’d say she even done better than the double Shantay on this season The producers just completely misread what the fans wanted from this season

October 28, 20213 yr Author I didn't think really any of them had a good Snatch Game? Kitty: just said Gemma Collins quotes. Changed to Gemma Collins because she seems to be one of the few UK celebrities RuPaul knows. Safe at best. Her runway costume didn't fit the category, without her basket of cherries it would not be obvious what she was. Ella Vaday: just said Nigella-esque quotes, mixed in with actual quotes. Her look was okay, the boobs weren't really big enough and the look wasn't obviously Nigella. Her runway hit the brief although she kept stepping on her train multiple times. Krystal Versace: we hardly saw her and what she gave wasn't that good. Didn't volley off anyone else. Her runway look repeated the same silhouette she's given every week. Scarlett: extremely one-note and hardly a look apart from her existing physical resemblance. Didn't know any quotes, references or jokes except some Home Alone standards. Her runway look completely missed the brief and she has been doing poorly for weeks, yet was excused. Vanity: was decent. She had a good look and kept her accent and character up and volleyed well compared to the others. Her runway look was decent. River: probably did the worst at Snatch Game, but wasn't dreadful. Reaction shots of the judges not being impressed made her answers seem worse than Kitty's, but they were on a similar wavelength. To me it was pretty clear that Ru wanted her to do an Asian stereotype and was punishing her for not. Her runway look was fine and a creative interpretation. Choriza: I think did fine! Again reaction shots were used to make her look worse than she was. She was high energy in Snatch Game and volleyed well. Her runway was perfectly fine too. For me this would have been the week to have no winners and perhaps even a second double shantay. The lipsync was not bad at all and this is just a gag, but it's missed the mark for me. Four more episodes with only five queens, that means they're bound to do another double shantay or a returning queen, and if it's the former, I just don't really think any of these queens deserve it. Go on girls, give us nothing.
October 28, 20213 yr I think choriza's issue was she was too close to the character and didn't know how to improv with her. I loved ella and kitty in the snatch game. Tbh I am shocked Chrozia was in bottom two overall tho, the judges liked her runway but for Krystal they didnt like runway or snatch game so was very erm concerned. That being said the lipsync didnt deleiver so I get why the double. The best runway was ella by miles.
October 28, 20213 yr So devastated with tonight’s result, Choriza and River were both the 2 who were easily the most likeable, funny, charismatic. I agree they didn’t do great in that challenge but I think Krystal could have been bottom, also Scarlett got a pass yet again I didn’t find hers funny at all and don’t get how they tried to make it seem that way. And vanity is kinda in the middle. Literally has to be Kitty or Ella for the win now
October 28, 20213 yr This is my final straw for this season, it just made no sense! By no means was it a great lipsync, far from it, but River was fine. The problem is Choriza was not even close to deserving of bottom tonight imo, the runway was probably her best since week 1 for me and the Snatch Game was... fine? It wasn't great, it wasn't bad though, Choriza has enough about her own personality that injecting some of that means it was fine when she did flag that bit more. It wasn't her week but no chance did she deserve to be bottom for that. Ella is the only one who impressed me this week, Nigella was right at the top of my Snatch Game wishlist and whilst I think she could be an easy safe choice, Ella did enough to push her that bit more, she improvised, grabbed moments when she could etc., so it wasn't just a few innuendos. Even down to the little references like when she said gummies from the shop are fine :lol: Kitty wasn't bad but I agree she was just parroting quotes, she did have the impersonation down but I don't think just parroting quotes can be counted as a great Snatch Game. Vanity was solid, we didn't see enough but I would argue she could be high over Kitty, although Kitty and Ella had the best runways for me. Scarlett was the worst for me in the challenge along with River. Very very one note, plus her runway was the worst alongside River. River I guess at least tried to do the voice and have some quotes on hand, but it didn't work and there were no jokes and no improv. I do wish Krystal was bottom two though to give her a kick up the arse, her characterisation was good but she wore the exact silhouette from the other week! I think if she keeps being let off, she is going to keep doing the same thing and you can't necessarily blame her! I thought her and Vanity being critiqued for "doing a character" was stupid though and really picking at that point, the challenge is to embody someone else - who cares if it's a character? I also hated Ru going round the workroom making everyone change their characters, Danny Dyer and Cilla would have been so much more interesting I feel. At this point they may as well just go round assigning characters to people. Ru just can't help putting people into the exact box he wants, keeps going on about originality and uniqueness but everyone has to be the same few types of queens or else. Sadly even in my own judging we'd have lost River today, I couldn't justify putting anyone bottom 2 over her given the challenge plus awful runway, and I think Krystal or Scarlett would have ate her in that lipsync :( Either way, the heart of the season is gone and we're left with 5 bland at best, borderline cold and robotic at worst queens I couldn't care less about watching.
October 29, 20213 yr I was enjoying the episode until the end I thought Ella absolutely SMASHED it as Nigella and I was absolutely howling with laughter at her the whole way though. Kitty did well even if it was predictable / reciting Gemma quotes, and I actually did like Scarlett this week and thought she was worthy of a high placing. Choriza absolutely wasn't bottom 2 worthy for me, though, and I thought they were unnecessarily harsh on her. In Snatch Game, she did fine if not amazingly, and her runway look was great. Her and Vanity were middle of the pack for me this week, leaving Krystal and River bottom. I love River but based on the Snatch Game and the runway, she did deserve to go. Krystal is offering very little beyond looks for me and even then, she's repeating looks at this point (yet Charity got called out for apparently being one note...!!!). Even then, based on the lip sync, it wasn't quite double sashay worthy and getting rid of them both felt soooo unnecessary. I've been thinking for the whole series that nobody stands out like Lawrence, Bimini and Tayce did last year, or like Divina, Baga and the Vivienne did in season 1 - love them or hate them - and I think that's clear with this top 5. Vanity feels way out of her depth, Ella's only just starting to shine, Krystal's offering little beyond looks, Kitty is my favourite remaining but has no wins yet so is probably coming for a Cheryl / Ellie position, and Scarlett is VERY patchy. It's not a great bunch :(
October 29, 20213 yr This just feels like a perfect storm of what makes a bad series of Drag Race: - The biggest for me is that the cast is underwhelming, and the queens who had a good reception from a majority of fans have left too early (Victoria) and/or had a raw deal (Charity, River, Choriza) where the judges kinda paid them dust, I suppose you could count Veronica in a way since a lot of fans were excited to see her back. - The judging is insane, every week seems to have a general consensus that the judging was off, which comes down to Ru not really getting UK drag as well. - Too many twists for the sake of it. It's almost becoming like X Factor or Big Brother were when they jumped the shark, you're constantly waiting to see what twist they'll out to the point that the real twist would be not having one. For me that loses the joy and fun of the show, it loses that celebration of drag, because it becomes more about gags and "shocks". I totally understand that this is reality TV, that often has to be manipulated a bit and hammed up, but it's just not entertaining when "gags" are engineered as they have been this season. I know the season was rushed and that's also a problem, idk how it was in terms of the gap between casting and filming and whether that was normal, but they filmed episodes quicker etc and that probably doesn't help.
October 29, 20213 yr Author I'm just sitting here like. One of these remaining 5 is going to win the whole thing, and I don't think any of them have had a single Moment thus far? Like by this time in season 2 we had had UK Hun, Lawrence's design challenge and monster look, Bimini's Snatch Game, Tayce's Memory lipsync, Veronica and Tia slaying the Rusical, Tia's green dress, Tia and A'Whora's hilarious morning show and Ginny's walkout. What has this season given us apart from Choriza's confessionals and the gag of Krystal winning two in a row? Vanity's two lipsyncs were fine and Scarlett's given us one good and one bad.
