New interview with Jade in NME:

It’s been 12 years since you joined Sugababes for ‘Sweet 7’. Do you ever listen to that album now? And how do you feel about that time in your career?

“I don’t listen to the album, but I’ve never been a person who listens or watches themselves back. How do I feel about it? It wasn’t that long after my Eurovision chapter, so I feel like when I see that version of Jade, it’s not me. I was such a young, green, naïve little thing, and I was shoved into this massive machine where I felt like I was just trying to stay afloat the whole time. There was a lot of worry because I never wanted to say the wrong thing or let anyone down, and I didn’t fully understand the situation I was in – so much of it was kind of held back from me, actually.

“Everything happened really quickly and it also came to an end very quickly, so I felt I didn’t really get a chance to process any of it for quite a while afterwards. But, I mean it was a fantastic learning experience for me, especially in terms of dealing with the music industry.”

An idea that fans sometimes talk about is all six Sugababes coming together for an “Ultimate Sugababes” tour. Does that appeal to you?

“At this stage? No, because I feel like I’ve tried really hard to carve out a new path and experiment with new adventures. I would never say never, but I’ve seen that the original line-up are back together and, genuinely, I’m a fan of the original line-up and I love their vocals. So I wish them well and I think that, while that’s working, just keep rolling with it.

“I did hear once that a TV show was trying to get all six Sugababes reunited and back together, but I’ve never even met the other girls. I met Keisha once randomly at a wedding and she was really nice, but I’ve never met Mutya or Siobhán.”

It does sound like it was quite a hard and messy situation for her to be in.

I wonder which TV show tried to get all six of them together, must have been the reunion or something?

I wanna meet these „fans“ who keep asking for a 6-girl reunion tour and talk some sense into them.

Sounds like it was a challenge and, just as suspected it ended when freedom rightly died.

I mean I get it. Her solo career was flopping and she joined what seemed like a sure thing.

Happy that her acting career seems to be going well. Still don't see/hear her as Mariah though.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion for 1.0 fans but my favourite line-up is 2.0 - would love Heidi back but I can't see that happening. Mutya, Keisha and Heidi are the line-up I grew up with.

Would love to hear the 1.0 line-up sing more 2.0 songs.

Im yet to hear a 2.0 track 1.0 can’t sing better so I am absolutely up for them doing more of the 2.0 material

I don't think is an unpopular opinion I'd say this is the general opinion. I'd even say the general public would possibly rate 3:0 over 1:0 due to them having About you now.

2:0 is also my favourite line up, and while I am a big Siobhan fan (her Ghost album is incredible) I have yet to see her contribute songs for the group that are even half as good as the 2:0 line up that Heidi and Keisha were very involved in writing for. Again although I think Siobhan has a great voice, and I really enjoyed the live performance of CIAM I prefer Heidi's tone in the recording (and also in that live performance at some PITP type event). It's all personal preference though 2:0 to me is in the top 3 greatest girl bands of all time for their output, 1:0 doesn't compare, even if we just look at each line ups first albums AWDF for me is vastly superior.

I'm the same, I love Siobhan but I feel they were truly Sugababes with Heidi for me.

I feel only a small bunch want Heidi back, while the majority are happy with MKS.

Respect to Jade on her taste on line ups.

I think more people only want Heidi back because that was their most known line up, but i will be honest, I am yet to hear a 2.0 song that Siobhan can't sing better
Heidi was great! But I love how Siobhan makes the songs her own, and places a different spin on it. Whatever Siobhan touches turns to gold. I was skeptical and thought no way could Shiv pull off Freak like me, Push the button, and Hole in the head. How wrong I was back in the day.
