April 16, 200619 yr Author You see if anyone speak seriously here we can find the answer! The answer to what?
April 16, 200619 yr How successful do a band need to be before some of you will recognise they have talent. These Westlife boys CAN sing. I am certainly not a fan, and I am not keen on the fact that they do so many covers, instead of new material, but each one of them is a multi millionaire. I wonder how many of you critics out there are? Not that old chestnut. The clip alone proves how little talent they have, if any. They are a gross example of PR manipulation courtesy of Louis Walsh who has the talent, for knowing how to give a talentless band a cheap image, cheap music and cheap videos and get a fanbase of housewives and girls under 12 years old to extort money out of them. April 16, 200619 yr Author Originality please. :) And talent :) Based on this video, it appears to be lacking

The old ones are the best ones Aly, especially when they are true! Whatever you or anyone else on this board feels about Westlife, they do have talent, and this is evidenced as they have been hugely successfull. Just because they aren't my cup of tea, doesn't mean I can't see why other people would like them. I don't understand why people here seem to have such a down on them??? Just because you don't like an artist or group, it doesn't necessarily mean they are talentless. I really wonder what you guys use to measure talent by

I really wonder what you guys use to measure talent by  Their success is no measure of talent, as I said it's Louis Walsh's skill in PR manipulation and finding a fanbase for them in housewives and pre-pubescent girls (mainly) earned their success. They have no originality at all, churning out the same stuff again and again, many of their releases are covers, and they even MIME ballads whilst sitting on stools. I certainly don't measure talent by that.
April 17, 200619 yr Sorry but 8 years a 12-year-old girl will become 20! Westlife's fans are old now. Many times Westlife said that their fans have gone old. And check a look into their tours, all the fans are old, at least 16 years and more!
April 17, 200619 yr check a look into their tours, all the fans are old Yes, which brings us back to the point of HOUSEWIVES. I doubt many girls under 13 would be at their tours anyway, as their pocket money doesn't stretch that far. :smoke:
April 17, 200619 yr Yeah. I agree with you. If you go to Westlife tours you only see women over 15 or little girls under 15 years old. they are just c**p
April 18, 200619 yr which video? only 7 singles are covers That is a disgrace. I am sure the boys have quite nice voices, although not anything particularly special. I just hate their songwriting team (or lack thereof as the number of cover versions seems to imply).
July 5, 200618 yr this thread  has now been moved to the pussycat dolls forum, thanks e-motion now let's "apreciate" :P
