Large-lunged singer Anastacia’s whirlwind romance with her former bodyguard Wayne Newton continues at breakneck speed.

 

Three months after the couple announced plans to get married, she spent the Christmas break with his family in England.

 

The 37-year-old singer and her new fiancé arrived shortly before Christmas and started the festive celebrations with a night out in London with six friends at MintLeaf restaurant.

 

She told waiting photographers: “I’ve written to Santa and told him to remember I am in England this Christmas.†In fact, TheBuzz can reveal the precise whereabouts of Anastacia was Beckenham, Kent, over Christmas and new year, as she was introduced to the extended Newton family.

 

According to sources close to the happy couple, the pair discussed wedding plans with their friends and family and told them they plan to walk down the aisle before the end of 2007. However, they must first decide whether to hold the wedding in New York close to Anastacia’s family, or in London near to Wayne’s relations.

 

“Anastacia has fallen for Wayne hook, line and sinker and they plan to marry very soon,†says a friend.

 

“She hasn’t met many of his friends and family and this was the perfect opportunity for her to get to know them before the wedding.

 

“It was also a chance to check out wedding venues. The venue is a bit of a sticking point as she’s from America and he’s from England.

 

“They agreed to have Christmas in England as Wayne doesn’t get to see his family much and the other issue is under debate.â€

As the film is based on the real-life experience of New Yorker columnist Marisa Acocella Marchetto, who found a lump in her breast three weeks before her wedding, Cate is concerned that she has to play the part sensitively to represent what really happened.

 

“Cate played Elizabeth I, so she has experience in playing strong women, but this is much harder,†says a pal. “Marisa and all her friends will be watching the movie.â€

 

TheBuzz hears Cate has been regularly meeting with Marisa and will be a guest of honour alongside singer Anastacia at the Cancer Vixen book launch next week.
