Posted December 14, 200618 yr OK, whilst they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - I'm not sure I like the Killers turning into The Cure (much as I love the Cure...and rather like the Killers). 'Bones' doesn't just sound similar to - it's a complete re-hash of all the poppier Cure singles - Brandon's voice sounds EXACTLY like Robert Smiths' on it, the guitars are the same - Jesus, even the ending is reminiscent of The Cure....
December 14, 200618 yr The Killers don't have the smallest part of originality in them... Their first album was full of songs that could fit on a Faint album but most porbably wouldn't as The Faint are a lot better and now they've gone down the road of U2/Springsteen/Cure... Appaling!
December 14, 200618 yr Yeah, the last single was totally U2...which explains why I hated it. The new one I can tolerate...and if that's cos it sounds like The Cure - and it does - there's another explanation right there. Don't forget their excellent rip offs of Shed Seven and Julian Cope on the last album.
December 15, 200618 yr Well U2 inspired them alot apperently. Their new song sounds very like a Cure song I agree. Has anyone ever seen this. It's a duet with Bono and Brandon of the U2 song 'In a little while'. I really dont like Brandon's voice <_< bSzCyrbyIYo

December 19, 200618 yr tbh im not bothered... i never thought the original 'indie' sound got all the airing and was explored far enough back in the early 80's, so when the killers, hard-fi, kiasers etc draw upon this great sound and make it their own... im not bothered! its great that a whole new generation are making this sound their own. better then the manufactured pop and sleazy r n b that has been so dominant in the charts.
