Posted December 14, 200618 yr McFly vow not to release album of covers (from digital spy) Saturday, December 9 2006, 16:04 GMT By Daniel Kilkelly McFly have taken a pop at chart rivals Westlife for their decision to make an album of cover versions. The singers *in the loosest meaning of the word* have insisted that they will never release an album of covers, although they have recorded over 20 versions of other people's songs in the past. "We've done lots of cover versions but it's not something we'd do on an album," lead singer Danny Jones told the Daily Record. "We only really sing them for TV and stuff like that when we get specially asked, but we wouldn't do what Westlife have done and bring out an album. "We just like to be a band who writes our own stuff. We want to be seen as a proper band like Oasis."      The words 'McFly' and 'proper band' do not belong in the same sentence let alone anything else. I'm sorry to seem disrespectful to their fans but they are the worst band of the decade (maybe a slight exaggeration). The lyrics are tedious going on about fancying a girl and love and all that carp!!!! They annoy the hell out of me... I also read somewhere that Harry was so insistent that he and Lindsay Lohen went out together that he was prepared to have a lie detector test done on Oprah Winfrey (i think), how desperate are they for publicity. Go away, taking Westlife with you, you talentless morons :puke2: :puke2: Rant over
December 15, 200618 yr  Well I must admit their version of Don't Stop Me Now was rather...huge  They are such a joke. All their songs sound the same and now they're going to release an album of covers? Are they really that hard-up for songs?

They said they'd never release an album of covers. At least they're trying, unlike westlife.
December 15, 200618 yr McFly are a proper band imo unlike Westlife :D I agree, at least they write & record their own material, even if a lot of it is not very good IMHO.
