Chart commentary: There are 15 new entries this week, 2 of which debuted in top 20. Matt Ryder is back with another amazing electronic song while the strong performance of electronica continues, Fikus being one of the examples entering no. 26 this week. Elsewhere, we see a couple of pop songs and Eesti Laul 2022 entry CHAMPION becomes the first Eurovision 2022-related song to make their way to the chart.

 

Autopsy continues their strong run in the chart, as they claim the no. 1 throne this week with a 9-minute long epic. Hengitä is close to getting the top spot while Stupid Boy is still standing strong in the top 10. Otomo and Keep On Believing are the only entries to the top 10 this week, as electronica occupies 3 out of 10 spots in the top 10. Meanwhile, a couple of songs jumped big this week, with Do Me achieving the highest jump this week.

Great chart!

Number One Entry

 

To keep people captivated for more than 9 minutes is no easy feat and Highasakite definitely pulls this off amazingly well. The first half is synthpop with some great drops, melody and instrumentation. The second half is a slow buildup to the climax in the end which resembles electronica genre. The constant changes and slow progression keep the attention of the listener well.

 

Highest Debut

 

This is an interesting mix of rap and EDM, two contrasting genres in terms of the importance of melody. I think this song blends them well and the hook is memorable.

 

Highest Jump

 

I've only come across this banger recently. Very rarely do I have songs from Saint Martin but this has a catchy chorus with great melody and instrumentation.

 

One to Watch

 

This is a decent pop song that has grown on me lately. I love the harmony and the instrumentation in this song though the melody is on the weaker side.

Ooh I'm very intrigued by that Highasakite song now from that description, they had a couple of decent BJSC entries which went top five a while back [Golden Ticket, Samurai Swords]. This one sounds a bit more electronica influenced from a quick skim so should be good hopefully.

Your no. 1 is actually really good, if I have room it may chart in my chart too!

Autopsy is an amazing song from Highasakite but the song is very long. I might consider sending this song for BJSC in the future especially electronica seems to be doing quite well in BJSC lately.
