Posted December 29, 20213 yr I searched the search bar but was shocked to find no thread for one of the biggest TV shows currently. Anyone else watching this? Just starting series 3 tonight and it’s typical character driven HBO fare and yet brilliant acting and storylines. kevqiiYNFrc
December 29, 20213 yr Just wrapping up the third season... Soon? I have an episode and a half left. Definitely a must watch if you love a good character related show.
April 10, 20232 yr Author I haven’t had time to start this yet but looking forward to it, might just watch it from episode one again tbh!
April 21, 20232 yr I have started watching this, I finished Season 1 yesterday. I was put off watching it for ages due to a few people telling me they couldn't get in to it, the way it was shot and I was not sure how the premise of a comedy/drama would go down. I can safely say where I have been!?? By all accounts Season 1 is the worst and I absolutely loved it. So many of the character strands and movements paid off big time in the finale and it made so much sense why they had certain characters doing certain things. I'd highly recommend for anyone - can easily see this being in my Top 5 shows of all time.

Yeh as Josh said series 3 is the best. Took me 5-6 episodes to get hooked but it was great after that. Edited April 22, 20232 yr by steve201
April 24, 20232 yr They’re definitely going out on a high, Episode 5 was amongst one of my favourites.
April 24, 20232 yr Just you wait for S3... and S4 has been the best yet so far. I can't WAIT to see how this ends. Wow I always thought you watched this Roo considering your good tv taste! Yeh as Josh said series 3 is the best. Took me 5-6 episodes to get hooked but it was great after that. I've heard Season 3 is the best and the finale is one of the best of all time. Don't think I'll be caught up by the time Season 4 ends, but I'm enjoying the ride for sure.
May 23, 20232 yr I watched the first 3 seasons over the last month or so (in part thanks to stans on my twitter timeline) - gonna catch up with season 4 just in time for it to finish I imagine. Absolutely fantastic TV show, the acting in it is something else, particularly Jeremy Strong but Brian Cox and Alan Ruck* also steal the scene whenever they're on. very good parody of the ultra rich too, imagining them as self-absorbed as this is very gratifying. *outside of the tiny problem of him being against everything I stand for, I am absolutely a Conhead.
May 29, 20232 yr I need to process that a bit more but I think that was...perfect? It's so rare that a TV series nails its ending but they did that and then some. Wow. Actually pretty emotional it's all over. It's also so rare you get a TV show that consistently delivers at such a high level like Succession has. What a triumph. Edited May 29, 20232 yr by Jαsє
May 31, 20232 yr I need to process that a bit more but I think that was...perfect? It's so rare that a TV series nails its ending but they did that and then some. Wow. Actually pretty emotional it's all over. It's also so rare you get a TV show that consistently delivers at such a high level like Succession has. What a triumph. The critics didn't like it though, although I think that's more as we got a bittersweet ending rather than a Hollywood one. I thought it was perfectly fine, Tom ending up at the top pretty much is full circle for his character and Greg turning in to "Tom" sets the cycle as well. I definitely thought Kendall was going to jump from the top of the building when he got in the lift, but seems like he will just continue to end up miserable. Great show though. I thought they might do a spin-off but seems unlikely.
June 3, 20232 yr Just got through it and god I loved that finish. What a series, at every turn they got it completely right with the moves they wanted to make. Writing top notch, acting fantastic. Always going to end that way as well, I feel I could for the most part predict the main story beats but the presentation was what I was there for. The politics part of it was literally the only part that felt a little heavy-handed, perhaps due to those events feeling very familiar, not that it didn't make me scared something similar could happen in a hypothetical future election. The rest, absolutely brutal evisceration of 'family business' by cold-hearted, money-talks, capitalism, failsons and daughters having countless idiosyncracies and lives consumed by seeking power. And especially a great talent in certain episodes to very subtly but powerfully indicate sudden moments of drama. Best exemplified in the episode where Logan dies, that was an absolute masterpiece of storytelling, I can think of few hours of TV that have engaged me more than that. very tight, focused TV, a must watch
