Both Red Bulls have been summoned by the FIA stewards over the pit exit incident..

I thought Ferrari were only protesting Max as it was he that ran slightly over the line trying to control a slide.

Mind you the onscreen caption did say Perez by mistake. They said it was noted with no action to take so I don't see this going far

Must've missed Checo's infraction then.

But considering the amended rules it was rightly rejected

Monaco Review

Best driver: Perez [fortunate that Ferrari reactivated clown mode once again but drove brilliantly and outperformed Max all weekend]

Worst driver: Schumacher [he's becoming a bit of a liability this season with constant mistakes]

Best team: Red Bull [nailed the strategy]

Worst team: Haas [although Ferrari offer a great alternative shout throwing away a 1-2 front row lockout]

Best overtake: Gasly on Vettel [despite a tyre advantage you don't see many moves into Mirabeau!]

Worst overtake: Zhou on Tsunoda [great save though]

Best moment: Sainz telling Ferrari to STFU on strategy and being proved right

Worst moment: The Schumacher crash effectively decided the race finishing order as post-red flag it was a dry procession

Best thing about the race: Wet dry conditions made it a very enthralling watch for the first 30 laps

Worst thing about the race: The fact it made me worry about another Spa-2021 scenario for a while

And the race in a sentence: The Monaco streets are fully wet, Perez has a weekend he'll never forget

Best driver: Perez (just edging out Leclerc)

Worst driver: Schumacher (although Ricciardo is arguably the biggest let down of the year)

Best team: Red Bull

Worst team: Ferrari (they are their own biggest threat to a title yet again)

Best overtake: Gasly on Ricciardo

Worst overtake: Hamilton on Ocon

Best moment: The light drizzle that signalled a wet start at Monaco

Worst moment: The decision not to start the race on time

Best thing about the race: Wet Monaco is always unpredictable

Worst thing about the race: An over cautious race director denying us what could have been a classic race

And the race in a sentence: Impressive Perez tames F1's drivers most challenging circuit, in difficult conditions, and writes his name alongside some of the greatest in history

Scratch that, I'm going for the Alonso train because it is genuinely one of the funniest thing in F1 ever. Doubly so when, after 15 laps of Hamilton moaning about the pace, Alonso just buggered off by around a second a lap over Lewis.

Bit late to announce it now eh Checo?

After winning in Monaco he could be heard on TV coverage greeting Christian Horner with the words 'I probably signed too early'

I am still trying to work out how Ocon is the one that came off with a Penalty for a move that would never happen in a month of sundays

That pen is ridiculous. Hamilton was never ever going to make that move work. It was even more optimistic than a dive bomb. Ocon was just driving his normal line and same braking point.

They changed the rules for this year and according to the new ones Ocon should give space -

“In order for a car being overtaken to be required to give sufficient room to an overtaking car, the overtaking car needs to have a significant portion of the car alongside the car being overtaken and the overtaking manoeuvre must be done in a safe and controlled manner, while enabling the car to clearly remain within the limits of the track.

When considering what is a ‘significant portion’ for an overtaking on the inside of a corner, among the various factors that will be looked at by the stewards when exercising their discretion, the stewards will consider if the overtaking car’s front tyres are alongside the other car by no later than the apex of the corner.”

However Ocon should have got a second one here -

Ocon moved under breaking and squeezed Hamilton against the wall, it just wasn't shown on TV. (The video's claim is incorrect about the cause if the penalty)

Yeah I didn't think the incident he actually got the penalty for was correct but it was evened out by the other one above which definitely was a pen but wasn't even investigated :S can always count on Monaco TV direction to be lacking though, they missed a good few overtakes in the midfield which you can see on the top 10 on boards on F1's YT channel.
Not sure I see it myself. I can't see them replacing him with a rookie such as Pato O'Ward next season and then what current driver would realistically switch over? I think Ricciardo can pull himself out of this rut of form.

McLaren have four realistic options if they want to replace Ricciardo -

Colton Herta

Pato O'Ward

Nyck De Vries

Oscar Piastri

All except Herta featured at last years Abu Dhabi test as did Ricciiardo and whilst they all posted faster times than Daniel they were all in last years car whilst he was in the mule variant. There's currently nothing to suggest any of them would be quicker than. However because the Indycars have much rougher and looser handling than an F1 car I'd say O'Ward or Herta would be their best option and the latter has greater marketing potential.

poor Daniel, still think he can turn it all around, good thing the season is so long

Williams have been fined $25,000 (£20,000) for a breach of Formula 1's cost cap regulations.

The team missed the 31 March 2022 deadline to submit its 2021 accounts and are the first to be punished under the cap since its introduction last year.

Williams had informed rule makers of the problem ahead of time, the FIA said.

The cap has been reduced to $140m this year from $145m (£114m) in 2021.
