Gutted" Laura Muir will miss the indoor athletics season with a back injury.

The Olympic silver medallist, 28, withdrew from last Saturday's DNA Athletics event in Glasgow, and is now set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

She had hoped to set a new 1,000m indoor record at the Grand Prix event in Birmingham this weekend.

"I am sad to announce I am not going to be able to compete," Muir said.

"After further investigation on Friday into an injury I sustained a few weeks ago, I have to take some time off running to recover.

Team GB have now been officially stripped of their 4x100m silver medal following CJ Ujah's doping test.

Ultimately it had to be the case but you have to feel sorry for them, having that feeling of elation just punctured like that.

I feel sorry for his teammates to have that taken away from them, from a teammate's positive test. No news yet on a ban for Ujah.

Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has been given a 10-year ban for "multiple breaches of anti-doping rules".

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) said the 33-year-old was banned for five years for the use of multiple prohibited substances and five for not co-operating with the investigation.

Okagbare was suspended during the Tokyo Olympics after failing a drug test.

It's a real shame to see - Okagbare is a name I've been aware of since the London Olympics and back then I don't think I even knew what doping was! Hopefully her experience will lead other athletes to make sure they're racing fairly.

Yeah I read that story today about not having a medal to give his son to take in to school. Here’s hoping he can compete at the next olympics

Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake says he is "heartbroken" after losing his 4x100m Olympic silver medal because of CJ Ujah's failed drugs test.

Mitchell-Blake found out on Friday the Great Britain relay team will lose the medals they won at the Tokyo Olympics last August.

Ujah, 27, tested positive for ostarine and S-23 but says he "unknowingly consumed a contaminated substance".

"It hasn't really 100 per cent sunk in yet," said Mitchell-Blake on Saturday.
