Pabandom iš naujo! 2022 is going to be the national selection for Lithuania this year in Eurovision. Heat 1 was aired on 4 Jan and the show will be broadcast this Saturday.

Among the acts, I think Cosmic Bride, Gebrasy, Ieva Zasimauskaitė and Rūta Loop are the names that I am anticipating the most.

This is quite a weak heat so I'm not expecting much but Back To Myself seems the strongest here.

Quite surprised Holiday finished second last as it was quite well-produced but I heard the fandom saying it sounds quite like Womanizer. Over being last is shocking. My bottom 2 all went through :nono:

Lithuania have had the occaisional gems in their lineup the past few years but I've not been feeling anything in this selection so far.

Washing Machine sounds quite good but could come across as dated by some. I can't wait for Ieva and Cosmic Bride. Overall, this heat is a lot stronger than Heat 1.

 

Unfortunately both Alekas and Monika Linkytė withdrew from the contest.

My most favourite song of the selection is out already :(

Washing Machine is a bop but Ieva is the first song in this selection so far that I can see being in Turin.

maybe it's a grower but it's not doing much for me at the moment. I'm a huge fan of When We're Old.

Fan favourite Gebrasy's "Into Your Arms" has been released, and it's lovely! Hopefully he'll nail the performance Saturday.

Call Me from the Cold has a lot of potential but it never builds up to a big climax in the end. Nepaleidi has decent arrangement and instrumentation but the chorus melody is a bit weak. This heat is quite weak so I expect the winner to come from heat 2.

Lithuania putting all of their good songs into Heat 3 has backfired on them somewhat!

 

This is the only one in each of the three heats to have topped the jury and televoting so far so it's likely the one to beat.

 

The first four national finalists. Lolita Zero ran away with the televote and Queens of Roses just squeeked in so not a bad crop all told.

 

I'm only listening to the finalists but this is a great national final; if she replicates her performance in the semis, Monika would be easily the best Lithuanian entry ever, magical stuff. Ruta Loop would also easily be a favourite though it's lagging way behind in semi scores.

 

And most of the other stuff isn't bad, I'd only really be disappointed with Lolita Zero from this lineup and that still has a chance of being fun.

Gebrasy or Auguste.

The rest are weak, Monika and Zero will be my least favourite Lithuanian entry.

Monika Liu wins as was expected.

'Sentimentai' just seems to plod along and without the televote 12s of Ireland and the UK, Lithuania could be in trouble this year.

 

Their first Lithuanian language entry since 1994 though, so yay for that.
