Michael Ben David
I.M

8 songs are revealed for the X Factor finalists. The singers and the competing songs are:

Inbal Bibi – “ZaZa” & “Marionette”
Sapir Saban – “Breaking my own walls” & “Head Up”
Michael Ben David – “Don’t” & “I.M”
Eli Huli – “Blinded Dreamers” & “Nostalgia”

It sounds like Inbal Bibi is the one to lose here as one of her songs is written by May Sfadia which had a number one hit last year and ended up pretty high in my EOY. The other song was written by the people who wrote Nasrin Qadri - ג'ינס או טייץ that did very well in my top 50. I shall have a listen once these songs are available on Spotify.

The song will be selected via 50% televote, 25% judges, 25% professional committtee.

Production value is pretty high in this selection and is indicative of the present Israeli music industry. Hence, there are no songs that score a fail here. I really hope Israel can send something in Hebrew in the future because this language works really well with their music.

Even the weakest Israel song is better than the any of the Irish songs. :(

I.M, Blinded Dreamers, Marionette and Breaking Down My Own Walls have qualified to the next round.

What a great performer! :o

This is fabulous and I'm very happy that we're going to see this kind of representation at Eurovision. I just hope Israel manage to find a way to get this to the final.
The song feels very 'Drag Race contestant writes a verse to Swish Swish', but Michael is excellent and the main selling point of this for me.

OMG that's totally it - the "take the crown" line being the biggest tell.

Not sure what this is going to do competitively but this will be a fun bop in the semis at least.

Actually, I did like Inbal's songs but I was secretly hoping Michael would win, this is cool shit, makes up for the rest of this weekend's choices.
This is one of my least favourite Eurovision entries ever, I can't believe Israel are sending this?! It sounds like a RuPaul song and not even a good one, a Blame it on the Edit level one.

The Israeli press reports that Marvin Dietmann (Conchita Wurst’s artistic director) will stage Michael’s Eurovision entry. :w00t:

Also Michael Ben David seems to be unhappy with the arrangement so not sure if we might see a change in the representative

Is there a revamp? Because the song is horrendous lmao but he might actually make it through because of charisma (+ uniqueness, nerve and talent hunty).
