great news!! #10 is much better than i was expecting and beating Arcmonks aswell whoa that was unexpected round one to BL but its not over, markson and timtimfur are big competition too BL could even end up #4 on the physicals week also good to see boosting of shakira's album back in the top75 :cheer:

BL looks like it might only peak at 4 :cry: .. doesn't look like it is going to pass number 3 on ITunes.. but saying that Tim's album is already out, isn't it? so give it me might start to drop... also mark is out this week??? if so he might drop aswel

I don't think Mark Ronson will sell much on physicals. I think Beyoncé and Shakira will sell the most on physicals because fans love to buy the singles, and there is two big fan bases coming together + the fact that there will be multiple versions of the single.

thats true chansey we need promo support, NatBed has been all over the media on tv and radio and she jumped up to #7 now but Beekira are still doing better with no promo :lol: another thing sony should do is release the freemasons remix on itunes too it will get healthy sales imo and bump them up, the freemsons remix is an incentive to buy the CD1 £1.99 single too when it goes physical, its great that its getting plays and exposure thanks to radio1 :puke2:

All the mixes should be added on the 16th when the physical goes on sale. Hopefully the Freemasons version will do quite well.

the musicweek report is in today and it has shayonce in the top 5!! :cheer: still on downloads, timtimfur at #1, arcmonks non mover at #11 but they will be alot of promo and exposure for them starting on the 16th, radio 1 are dedicating a day to them and lots of competitions etc but as of yet no promo for beyonce & shakira if we had some we could secure #1!! they will have to get top5 on the strength of the song and video thats still really impressive!

I'm really surprised that Give It To Me is #1 :o It's a great track but I thought the video would've killed it.

surprising is the word! i like it too, i prefer to see it at #1 than mark ronson track, it is doing really well considering "stop me" is on 2 physical formats vs "give it to me" 1, the mark ronson video is rubbish too :lol:

This is bad news... if give it to me is doing this much better than BL, Well, it doesn't look good for next week, i wish people would stop downloading it :angry:

This song is definately a grower. It took the Beyoncé version ages to grow on me and then all of sudden, one day I was like "I wanna listen to that song!!!" And now Beekira version has only just properly grown on me :D My friend was the same, she said "Not too impressed with it" and then the other day she was like "Yeah, I love it now, it's a total grower, the beat is really catchy!"

do you know why i love it so from the very first listen!? well do you!? i shall tell you....

 

cause its sounds so distinctive, it sounds nothing like an other song around now and cause its my favourite kind of shakira's music....all out fusion!!

 

its strength is the production for me i love love the mariachi-flavored horn-section fanfare when beyonce says her name and then shakira its like they are being announced they are about to enter a gala ball. i love the fact its mid-tempo the beat struts with hip-thrusting arrangement, its hypnotic and effective then comes the flamenco hand claps and spanish guitar, its such a well constructed track, well thought out fusing r&b, latin and arabic sounds

 

lyrically we are entering soap opera drama territory but it works. the women responding to each other, fighting each other's corner then finally uniting over the deception. one of my favourite part is when shakira sings "I walked in on your love scene slow dancing" then beyonce defends herself "You stole everything how can you say I did you wrong" you can see the scenaro, you can imagine the scene the drama taking place in the song like in a film

 

beyonce is clearly a fan of shakira and i reckon a big one, she did so well by understanding shakira's type of fusion music and trying to get her to agree to this collabo after 1 year of trying, i bet shakira was impressed with beyonce effort and thats why she said yes to her
