OK, Client are my favourite band... I used to love Dubstar, so when Sarah split the band and formed Client I knew they'd be great.

2 (superb) albums in and they haven't disappointed.... their new single is a cover of Zerox Machine (was it Adam and the Ants?)... and it's fantastic.... electrotastic to be precise...

here's the video:

There's fab remixes from Nag Nag Nag's Johnny $l*t and it's out in early January...

I loved Dubstar. "Disgraceful" was/is a brilliant album.

Yes, this is a cover of an early Adam & the Ants track (pre Kings Of The Wild Frontier album).

With Adam Ant having released his autobiography "Stand & Deliver" and him heavily rumoured to be appearing in Jan 2007's Celebrity Big Brother, then the timing of this cover could be brilliant.

it was released in 1979 and features the origanal lineup of the band, it was released to promote the dirk weres white sox album

I've got tickets to see Client tomorrow...can't wait! I'm still absolutely loving Zerox Machine.

I love it too!

They sound a bit like Ladytron (Witching Hour era) ^_^

Listen to "Sugar" or "Weekend" by Ladytron and then to "Zerox Machine" by Client. :)

I went to see Client live in Cardiff last Saturday and they ROCKED.

Quite why Client aren't number one across the world is a modern-day mystery - three quasi-lesbians in skintight leather dresses singing catchy-as-scabies electro anthems about sex, drugs and rock and roll.... sounds like a surefire winner to me.

Fantastic band, fantastic live...and Zerox Machine is number one on my personal chart this week.

Excellent stuff.

...apparently, one of Client, the original brunette, not Sarah Dubstar, is married to music mogul Alan McGee... and the new member joined fresh from Make Me a Supermodel :o :D

...apparently, one of Client, the original brunette, not Sarah Dubstar, is married to music mogul Alan McGee... and the new member joined fresh from Make Me a Supermodel :o :D

all the info you#ll ever need:

The original band members were formerly known only anonymously as Client A and Client B, to the extent that their faces were not shown on any publicity photos; it has since been revealed that they are Kate Holmes, formerly of Frazier Chorus and Technique, and Sarah Blackwood, lead singer of Dubstar. Kate Holmes is married to Alan McGee (founder of Creation Records and discovered Oasis). In late 2005 a new member, Client E, joined the group. This is Emily Mann who was a contestant on the Five TV reality show Make Me a Supermodel and is also a Stuckist artist

Technique (band)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

Technique was a female alternative synth pop band from the mid-1990s featuring Kate Holmes of Frazier Chorus and singer Xan Tyler.

Technique was named after the New Order 'Ibiza dance' album of 1989 and were signed to the record label of Kate Holmes' husband - Alan McGee's Creation Records.

Technique evolved into the mysterious electro-pop band Client when Tyler refused to take part in a tour supporting Depeche Mode. Kate Holmes managed to replace her with Sarah Blackwood from Sheffield band Dubstar.

From this Depeche Mode tour a new masterplan was put in place, with the two becoming Client A and Client B, plus a new deal with Andy Fletcher's Toast Hawaii record label.

Frazier Chorus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Frazier Chorus was a pop group from Brighton, England. A pop group without a drummer, bassist or guitarist, they unusually instead utilised flute, clarinet, bongos and hush-hush vocals.

Career

Originally a four-piece, they signed to British indie record label 4AD Records and released one single, "Sloppy Heart" on that label in 1987. Shortly afterwards they moved to Virgin Records, and achieved reasonable chart success with a string of melodic pop songs about Dream Kitchens, Happy Eaters and Little Chefs, all taken from their 1989 debut album, Sue.

With the emergence of the indie-dance scene in the early 1990s the band changed tack. One band member was dismissed for pretending to be lesbian [citation needed] and singles from their second album Ray were remixed into indie-dance floorfillers by a number of top remixers, including Paul Oakenfold, Chad Jackson and Youth. The band were restyled from the fey indie pop band of 1989 into an act more like The Beloved and If?.

Singer Tim Freeman released a third album billed as Frazier Chorus (Wide Awake), which did not reach the UK Albums Chart as it was released years after Ray on a small indie label, whilst Kate Holmes descended into electronica via the bands Technique and Client. Freeman was also responsible (as half of nu-skool breakbeat duo Sly-Fi) for "the rudest record of all time" [citation needed], 2005's appallingly catchy 12", "Wild Wild Child" (Marine Parade). This record was responsible for the coining of the now well-used phrase "daddy-w****r", perhaps Freeman's proudest moment.[citation needed]

[edit] Trivia

Freeman is the brother of Martin Freeman, the British actor who starred in the multi award winning TV series The Office, written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Martin's Freeman's character "Tim" is based on Tim Freeman.

thanks Tiger!

Both Sue and Ray, the Frazier Chorus albums, were brilliant... and does anyone remember their totally off-the-wall version of Anarchy in the UK?
